My grandpa just died on valentines day. He WAS the small town southern man. My uncle was driving home the day that he died and said "dad if you are listening, play me a song" he turned on the radio and this song was playing. When it came to the final verse about the small town southern man dying he broke down crying. Some would call it coincidence, but I KNOW my grandpa wanted to tell us "don't you cry and don't you worry cause god has a place in heaven for the small town southern man"
