Johnny Moore is my favourite ever, I love john darrel moore he died the year i was born in 1998 and it has broken my heart, really how many times can a girl cry, some people call him the short, bald, fat guy from the drifters, but to me he is handsome and he died WAY to early at 64 yrs, thats why my name is love-died-at-birth, work it out
I often wonder why folks who have NO RHYTHM insist on clapping OFF TIME. That's so disrespectful of the audience. The audience is supposed to SUPPORT the artist not to lead in the opposite direction, for goodness sakes! For that reason I hate to seen ANYTHING tapped in front of a European audience. They CANNOT felt the BEAT, its just utterly impossible.
Joe blunt was fantastic, so pleased he got an award well deservedd, classy and a showman. Butch was good as well but have to say this new bunch are a waste of time so cold just on automatic pilot, the old lot, Johnney and joe and Clyde etc enjoyed what they did and it showed, and the audience loved them bring them back, not Johnney of course but the rest would be worth seeing. would never go and see this new lot again. BORING.
Hey Candy! Tx for the info. We looked where you told us but didn't see a lineup/date including Brown. What'd we miss? btw: We have it from a reliable source that his wifee, Elizabeth Brown, says he nor the band are not touring. Just wondering if Brown has, in fact, hooked back up with Leak for sumthin' special? Us die hard Clyde Brown fans need to know, Someone else dropped a line that Brown doesn't travel outside his home so it's confusing. If he's going to Vegas let's have the 411. Tx Candy
Candy..you love clyde I like joe but the best drifter ever was johney moore no doubt about it sadly missed.. they could be making hits today if he was still wih us I bet. sweet dreams johney. xx
I have seen them at Lakeside country club frimley green 3 times now and they are fab, is always a gr8 show, they are there every year, I love the drifters.
i thank billy lewis is still living. i'm trying to find out about them. hope the ones living is doing well. i know butch leake is and clyde brown. clyde is in a lot of these videos. and gets very little notibility. ss08
Correction, the last "original Drifter" Bill Pinkney passed away on July4, 2007 in Daytona Beach. His last TV appearance was on the last Doo Wop show on PBS taped the end of May. They had a reunion of singers for the Drifters of different eras. A pricless peace of music history. Thank you T.J. !!
Wow...he sounds as good as when I was a teen in l957 listening to "Fools Fall in Love"...a special voice..never got the recognition that Tony Williams did, but, in his own, way was an equal voice.
evie-not true. Bill Pinckney original bass is still active. Charlie Thomas-lead of "Sweets for my Sweet" & many others is still singing. & what about Ben E King?
YES Johnny Moore the last remaining Drifters is now gone. He was the only person that ensured you that you were watching the original group. I used to see them at The Grand Theatre in Blackpool when they toured. Sadly missed!!!!
Great to Johnny Moore singing one of the Drifter many classic hits this video, he had a unique voice very underated. Very much missed Earth loss Heavens Gain.
He had such a beautiful voice. I saw the Drifters a couple of years back in the UK, but the lead singer was missing, not sure if he is still alive? They were very good though.
wow. cant believe how out of time the crowd is. not even on the off beat.. it's all over the place!
