The only reason prohibition 'failed' was because it wasn't really being enforced in the first place. Jews were mainly the ones bringing in all the alcohol and they have controlled a large portion of our government since at least Woodrow Wilson was president. Prohibition was mainly a facade until the US government (Jews) could get the amendment passed "democratically" thereby quelling the opposition under the guise of the "will of the people."
Alcohol blocks GABA receptors in the brain that leads to delayed motor function and creates uninhibited behavior by blocking communication between the Limbic system and the frontal cortex of the brain that has to do with decision making. And the long term abuse of alcohol turns off chromosomes in the epigenome that can increase disease and become a hereditary trait past down to the offspring of alcoholics.
Try telling one of the family members, friends, etc. of the 18,000 people killed by drunk drivers every year that alcohol is a harmless drug. Rapes, murders also increase everywhere that alcohol increases. We can't afford the monetary costs of alcohol use, let alone the cost in human lives.
Texting, talking on your cell phone while driving and drowsy driving is just as harmful as driving drunk, yet I don't see anyone pushing to outlaw phone calls on the highway or driving while tired. What about the inequality of the wealth? How much crime does poverty contribute to? Shouldn't we increase minimum wage or increase taxes on the rich to prevent rapes and murders? How about socialized medicine? Wouldn't that cure most of the ills you state?
Sure, Matt, people are always trying to get others to not text or use a cell phone while driving. It's on the news all the time. Keep two hands on the wheel.
Inequality of wealth? I think wealthy people and poorer people are equally able and willing to commit crimes. How much money you have has nothing to do with whether or not a moral person. If you don't want someone to have your money don't give it to them. Boycott their business interests. Don't use the government to take it away.
Prohibition has been tried numerous times - and it has always been a failed policy - Once you could be beheaded for coffee in Russia. What happened? The use of coffee went up. Prohibition does not work. Doesn't it make you wonder why we would use a historically failed policy in our 'enlightened' country?
Plenty of other countries have prohibition in the world right now and if you look at many asian countries they don't have any alcohol problems because they're all allergic to it. I doubt there is anywhere else in the world with more glorification of alcohol than there is in the US. Sure prohibition won't work in the US and thats because we aren't as enlightened as you think. We're genetically and commercially a country that will forever been prone to alcoholism.
Yes the drinking age needs to be lowered to 18. you can drive at 16 you can vote at 18 and fight in the war, but you can't have a glass of champagne even at your own wedding ? 20 years old and you are still an ( under age adult ).
They need to lower the drinking age to 18. Or at least allow it for those under 21 who serve in the Military. I think it's bullshit that those between the ages of 18 and 20 can fight and die in a war but can't consume alcohol.
To BryanNC08: yes i agree. Years ago they used to say....."old enough to die, old enough to drinK" as so many teens were being drafted and sent to Vietnam to fight and die.
@BryanNC08 yes i see you rpoint but would you want soldiers being drunk when they fight or would it be better if they are sober and anyway they probably sneek in booze anyway.

Prohibition has a long history of failing to accomplish its stated goal, no matter what substance it tried to ban. Drug prohibition is no more effective than alcohol prohibition was yet we had the sense to repeal alcohol prohibition after only 10 years. Drug prohibition has been dragging on for over 60 years. Kay Lee
If you believe that prohibition ended with the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment. You would be wrong. Only the illegal status of alcohol ended. Prohibition never ceased against other mind-altering substances. In short, we have been fighting this failed War on Drugs now for some 80+ years. The children of the DARE generation that this war was supposed to help, are being harmed and disenfranchised.
so I guess you want more kids taking drugs? More drunks, more drunk drivers killing people, more stoners fucking up their brains, more crackheads smoking the rocks in the street, more heroin junkies sticking needles in their arms, ect
@tatomuck18 Alcohol prohibition, was a tremendous failure due to the incredible amount of crime and disorder it created. Human nature hasn't changed since the 1930s. Then, the distribution of liquor was turned over to a whole new group of criminal entrepreneurs. Now, due to the drug war, dangerous mind altering substances are sold, unregulated, by another new criminal class. The drug war has turned most of the inner cities into civil war zones. Is that what turns you on?
Heey what music did you use??

Alcohol prohibition of mighty America failed, lasting only 13 years.
Alcohol prohibition of Muhammad succeeded, lasting 1433 years and counting.
