I can't figure out how to make a page that shows certain posts I wrote and I read you had to create a custom template...but I never downloaded anything when I set up my blog.
I have followed your instructions and it worked. However, it still shows widgets on my home page. How can I remove it? site address is ObscureTruth com
I'm just getting into Wordpress Theme creation and this has helped me so much, there is a lot of documentation out there on the web about customising WP but the bulk of it is written for people who have a stronger understanding of PHP code than I.
Even trying to ask the right questions about altering WP to create individual pages like this has been hard, thank you so much.
Tom, this is awesome content, a blessing, thank you, i created a membership site within my blog and was looking to customize and drop the blog posts and other blog like features, to make that portion of it look more like a website, this was the answer i was looking for. guys the php code is on Tom's website.. i believe he stated that,
This was awesome man!! finally someone explained that little bit more. I would luv to hear about the next step.. how to pick the php codes to do interesting stuff on that front page. thanks!!!!
Sorry - YouTube won't let me add the code into the comments. The code snippets are all in my blog post, which is linked to in the description of this video above and to the right.
Man, I can't figure out how to post a link to my blog with the code. And YouTube won't let me post code in the comments either. If you go to my Expand2Web Blog linked to in the video description, you can get the code snippet from there...
You're right dougk710 - I posted the code on my blog but it looks like YouTube will not let me put the URL to my blog post in the comment. I'll just try to add the code below in a comment.
Ok, can't add the code into the comments either. The code is in my blog post, which is linked to in the description of this video above and to the right.
Great stuff! The only problem with the video is that I cannot see the PHP codes in the editor! Is it possible to post the codes in reply to this comment? It will sure help!
