  • Angelo Mathews plays this shot always...:P

  • Brilliant though he was, if he had of been more concerned about his team winning and less about personal records, he may have been up there with the greatest the sport's seen.

  • @AussieAspie your comment dont really has much merit because he is still up there with the greatest the sport's has seen

  • @AussieAspie aye u are talkin utta BS lara is d fuckin greatest d game has ever seen,he holds records to date that no other cricketer has ever held.......so dont hate congratulate!!!

  • @bbjunkie55 Funny, I seem to remember a guy who averaged 99.94 and scored 12 double-centuries (5 of them above 250) in just 80 innings. Lara may have been good, but his record pales into insignificance compared to Bradman. So now who's talking BS, someone who selectively ignores the greatest to put their favourite atop the heap.

And so what if he could score that many in an innings, Test Matches these days are one full day longer than most in Bradman's time...90 extra overs to score those runs.

  • great to watch

  • love the sound at 0:04

  • What is especially amazing about Brian Lara is that he has the best, most pronounced footwork of any batsmen I've ever seen. he seems to move so quickly and deftly into the best position to play his stroke.

  • what a bat, this man was...

    simply great!

  • Yea ppl have outnumbered the runs he scored , but none have the hunger for runs he has , none can match his concentration levels , none can match his fighting spirite. True legend one of the best batsmen ever . i will have him in my World XI day in and day out

  • Now that's Carribean flair people !!!

  • Amazing shot. So much balance.

  • He is the best

  • Uhhh,,,i m the best..leave

  • Sachin Tendulkar = Brian Lara. Both are great talents and very humble. They both have complimented each other, so stop debating about this crap and having a rage on youtube. Clearly whatever you people say will make no difference. Sachin Tendulkar thinks Lara is better, and Lara thinks Sachin is better, truth is both are Geniuses and their humbleness is another factor that makes both great. I really want to see these two bat together what a joy that would be.

  • Lara is more talented then Sachin if he would have played the amount of matches sachin have played im sure he would have scored more runs.

  • @1975siralex

then how do u explain the differences in averages? there are many factors! :)

  • How can u teach one to play a shot like tht!

  • We, in India, call this Nataraja shot (named after Hindu god Lord Shiva's dancing posture). Even Chris Gayle plays a somewhat similar shot, but not as perfect as the great master, Brian Lara.

  • Lara is a big match player, right you loser. Look at lara's record in ODI final, average only 28 and 4th innings in test match, averaging only 35. You dumb ass people say whatever about these two guys they will be always great, anytime.

  • to all the tendulkar "haters and critics"..ur just jealous because he doesnt play for your team!:P

  • amazing stroke, brian lara is an amazing player and reader of the game

  • only lara could play this shot

  • Lara its simple, the best since Richards, Tendulkar good technical batsman who has scored plenty runs on dead batting paradise wickets, imagine how many runs Lara would have scored if he batted on the same tracks as Tendulkar,.....Lara batting genius!!!!!!

  • @wiz987 Tendulkar averages over 50 all around the world. You say imagine what lara would have scored if he batted on the same tracks? Well when has he's only averaged 30, which is slightly better then pointing

  • @baldeepsingh sachin is always garbage when he plays against quality attacks.. u want proof? he only averaged 36 verses australia when mcgrath played.. i remember the series in sri lanka in 2005 i think it was when it was built up tendulkar verses mendis... all tendulkar did was went and played 3 tests batted 6 innings and scored 95 runs and averaged 15 for the series..he never could rise to the occasion...brian lara was always a big day player and relished playing against great bowlers

  • @MultiSazam So you say he averages 36 when mcgrath plays, well in odis brian lara averages 40, not a big difference to 36. So by your theory brian lara is rubbish against all bowlers? Lol don't worry I'm only joking, atleast I'm not ignorant enough to call Lara garbage cos he aint, he's 2nd to Tendulkar. I don't know what you're talking about mendis debut was in 2008 lol. Brian lara is a big day player? what exactly has lara achieved for west indies? how many finals you reached?

  • @baldeepsingh nope you obviously missed the point...lara averaged 51 verses australia overall but when mcgrath played he averaged 47. sachin averaged about 56 verses australia but only averaged 36 when mcgrath played which means when the big guns are around he never showed up. plus lara averaged 46 verses mcgrath in odis too while sachin averaged 34 against him...u want more? all the odis centuries sachin has none were scored against donald, waqar and akram combined. 0 vs ambrose in all cricket

  • @baldeepsingh star i made a mistake with mendis debut which was not really an issue... the fact is a big series were built up tendulkar vs mendis and tendulkar couldnt even score his age and he was only about 37 at that time.....what could lara achieved for west indies when he played with rubbish players? you dont know cricket is a team game? would tendulkar have won the world cup if gambir didnt score 97 and doni 75? tendulkar himself failed in the final so what is your point?

  • @baldeepsingh no i never said sachin was garbage.... i said he was garbage against quality bowling.....second to tendulkar? i respect tendulkar as a great player but not as good as lara....lara was a real entertainer was well...lara was batting on 374 and went down the track and hit the next ball way out of the park....you think tendulkar would of ever took that chance? NEVER

  • @MultiSazam I don't understand how a big series was built up between sachin and mends lol? That series mends sparkled, but when they played another test series again, tendulkar got 2 tons. Wheres mends now? Where was brian lara in the 2003 world cup? Tendulkar out scored him again. Lara only averages high vs mcgrath because he made one big double hundred but the rest of his scores what low. Tendulkar in 2000 series averaged 46 and the next series 50 where Mcgrath played.

  • @baldeepsingh pal before you come here and talk u need to check your facts...lara scored the best century of the world cup in 2003 verses south africa on a really difficult wicket...tendulkar scored 152 verses some crap team name nambia which was the weakest team in the tournament. am not done... you said lara only averaged high verses mcgrath because he made one double hundred and the rest were low scores 1999 in the caribbean, 62, 3, 213, 8, 153 not out, 100, 20. i think u should check u facts

  • @MultiSazam Don't worry i remember that hundred but thats all he did in the tournament. Look at tendulkars scores in all the games he played. Also Mcgrath was injured in the 998/999 series, where sachin was at his peak, if he played that sachins average would of been certainly higher. I don't care what you say, brian lara cannot perform at the top for 22 years like sachin has, a lot of jealousy going around. if some nobody comes and breaks 400 not out, does that make him the greatest? No.

  • @baldeepsingh look tendulkar scores in all the games he played? the only innings of real note was the one against pakistan that was a truly great knock..i told u sachin belted around some garbage bowling and when mcgrath catch him in the final he got rid of him cheaply again...so what you are saying it took tendulkar 9 years to peak from 89 to 98? he had better glad mcgrath didnt play or else his average would of been less than 36 against him...breaking a record doesnt make u the greatest

  • @MultiSazam He had one poor series, and thats why his average is low vs mcgrath. Tendulkar may have failed in the final but if it wasn't for his efforts we wouldn't be in the final, thats my point. Did you see Lara in ICL at the age of 37? pathetic, have you seen Sachin in IPL at 38? Tendulkar can transfer his skills to all formats of the game.

  • Comment removed

  • @MultiSazam What is apparent in Tendulkar v McGrath and Lara v McGrath contests, is that no other bowler in any Australian side that Tendulkar faced could trouble Tendulkar (with the occasional exception of Jason Gillespie). Where as Lara was prone to giving his wicket away against any Australian bowler. This is especially true in Australia, where Lara made 4 50+ scores in 25 innings in Tests where McGrath also featured. For Tendulkar, the corresponding figure is 3 out of 6.

  • @MultiSazam Tendulkar was more likely to play a particular bowler rather than play the ball. Tendulkar's strategy against McGrath was often to wait out a good spell, where as Lara was less likely to let a good spell go by - and this is reflected by their respective consistency levels, especially in Australia.

  • @baldeepsingh well u are coming right down my range with that argument...tendulkar never really got going verses australia when mcgrath played.....i love to rank great batsmen against great attacks...sachin highest score in cricket is against bangladesh the worst team in the world...you think i rate lara because of 400 even though he made against a good team? nope...i rate because he played with rubbish players who never laid foundation for him and in spite of that he was still able to dominate

  • @MultiSazam Look mate, we could go on and on and on with our arguments lol, we are just going to have to agree to disagree. Nice talking to you

  • @baldeepsingh lol well yes but the problem i have with most of tendulkar fans is every brian lara video they come and put forth tendulkar case.....i have looked at tendulkar videos and i would never post anything about lara because it is not his video....that is tendulkar's time to take his praise so i give it to him

  • @MultiSazam Yeah i agree but you get people chatting shit about sachin on a non sachin video, like i only commented cos souvik said 'sachin is a fucker' lol

  • @MultiSazam likely to add, laras and satins test scores are comparable, but do laras and satins odi records compare? NEVER

  • Couldn't see the whip shot because you filmed it on marty mcfly's 1987 JVC red camcorder from back to the future

  • BOTH THESE LEGENDS RESPECT EACH OTHER....Y DON'T THEIR FANS DO THE SAME?

  • You can't compare Sachin and lara. Both of them are all time gr8 in cricket history in their own style and classy ability.

  • sachin is a fucker

  • @souvik9102 i guess sachin has fucked yor mom thatswhy u r saying him fucker.maderchod bhosadi ke..

  • @souvik9102 Jealous much?

  • lara is forever one of the greatest, but I hate sachin.......

  • Which pixel is Lara?

  • @jakehabbo1 Sorry Boss! I didn´t have any better footage of this

  • @jakehabbo1 stand back 10 m maybe youl see it dh

  • @jakehabbo1 Nice one !!!

  • Brian Lara is the greatest & the most stylish batsman of all times.

  • Brain Charles Lara is the Best, the most Talented and the classiest batsman in the modern era

  • LARA IS ALL TIME BEST, EVEN BETTER THEN SACHIN.

  • lara is best, u can buy best things but sachin is priceless and he is indian ,, go f!!!k u r selves u pakistani bitch

  • lara is the boss check shot nah...talk nah fellas

  • beautiful!

  • Salute to the greatest batsmen of our era

  • sorry.. cover drive.. trademark

  • To settle da Sachin, Lara argument....Sachin COULD bat but Lara LOVED Batting, hence 400(not out), 501, The fastest 10,000 runs in test Cricket an da list goes on...Sachin scored alot of runs in India Lara did it anywhere to any bowling attack...668 runs in 3 test against SL an yea Murli was playing #Fact!!!

  • wow

  • @bapujinumber1 I think this is the best comment so far... :)

  • Sachin Tendulkar>Brian Lara>Bradman

  • in australia in 99 he had horrible decisions going against him. he avetages 48 with two fifties and one ton in 3 match series. he was man of series. u may remember that summer it rained it a lot, nearly all the days playe under dark clous. and everyone knows flat(but fast) aussie tracks with a little moisture makes it deadly. he won the mos not for nothing.

  • @ankit8150 and get your bloody facts right...tendulkar didnt average 48 in that series he averaged 46.....tendulkar played for yorkshire and couldnt perform.......go and ask when lara played for warwickshire what happen....

  • @MultiSazam ok 46 but still that does no take away anything. played for yorksire an....how moe lame can you get.

at one point .... that is pointless. thats totally arbitarary. 90's is a goo statistics. you know it dont you?

did lara ever played any WC? tednulkar was the highest scorer in 96. 2003. was secon highest scorer in 2011.

scoring hundreds in both innings is not that special in itself. it just shows how in consistent he was.

  • @MultiSazam also tendulkar ha reached a test hundred with a six six times. ho m,any has lara reached with a six? i know this statistics is not very relevant but i say this because some lara admirers constantly shoot themselves in the mouth by saying lara had a magical quality for example" id lara was on 94 he will try to hit a six. tendulkar will grind for a hour"

    i remember four of them

    94 vs wi in nagpur

    96 vs eng edgbaston

    2011 vs sa in capetown

    01 vs aus

  • @ankit8150 one question???? where was tendulkar in 94? lara was the best sportsman in the world in 94 am not just talking about cricket am talking about sports in general....you now why i mentioned yorkshire? dont you know county cricket in the 90's was just as hard as test cricket???

  • @MultiSazam taking a particular year is very arbitrary. a decade, especially as 90's is considered by most to be more challenging to the bat, is goo statistics.

no sir, county cricket was never considered as good as test cricket. english county was always respected beyond its means . By the 90's English cricket was long in the doldrums.

  • @ankit8150 English cricket was long in the doldrums but not the bowlers who participated...remember ambrose, walsh, donald, wasim, waqar, bishop and a few more all of these guys were playing county cricket....its not really a good idea to say that india didnt play much test cricket between 94 and 97 because lara may have played the same amount of test matches for that period too....i honestly believe the one thing that may have affected lara was motivation since 94 he accomplished so much

  • @MultiSazam did all these bowlers really playe at the same time. would they not be distributed over several teams? so lara and tendulkar were both supremely motivated in county cricket and the standard wa so high it could be consiered test cickt standard? an lara was never so motivated after 94? what did he achieved in 94 that made him less motivated? tonking the english? sure cork fraser are decnt bowlers. but scoring against india in india, australia and sa should have motivated him. lame.

  • @ankit8150 of course all played at the same time...akram at lancashire, ambrose at northamtonshire, walsh at gloustershire, waqar at yorkshire, bishop at derbyshire. you missing the point am trying to make...when you break 2 world records within 6 weeks that were standing for over 30 years what other motivation could you have...scoring another century wont really make you look any better in the eyes of the world....cork wasnt around in 94 either

  • @MultiSazam you id not get what i was saying. i sai all these bolers oul be distribute in various teams. some teams will not have any world class bowlers. some may have played in tendulkars or lara team. county cricket is not half test cricket.

breaking two world recors..ok you win that. i surreneder. i now see your point. lara must have been less motivated after 94. so that makes him way better than sachin. cause sachin played with full dedication all his life. sorry i argued for a middleton.

  • @ankit8150 i never said lara was way better than sachin and i would admit both players have scored over the other in some areas...sachin was more consistent.....lara once he get set it make sense to call it a day since he had the ability to bat for 2 days.....but what i do know sachin couldnt survive in that crappy west indies team lara played for

  • Respond to this video... i already told you i did not liked the argument myself... inia did not played test cricket between 93 and 97. but thats a fact. tendulkars best years was between 90 an 00. and 4 years were nearly wasted. thats a bloody fact.

  • @ankit8150 lara peaked in 94....so what year did tendulkar exactly peaked that is what am trying to ask....

  • @MultiSazam btw. i too admire lara a lot. he is one of three all time favs along with sachin and viv. so chill.

  • @MultiSazam on point which many miss. inia hardly played test cricket between the years of 1993- 1997. i do not like to use this as argument but since you bring up the issue of 94. i can argue he missed out a lot of his best years. indian board arranged a lot od odi cricket in this period. that is why he does not have many hundreds against wasim and waqar. i will give you an example of the dire lack of test cricket for these 4 years...

  • @ankit8150 the question is if he missed out a few of his best years what year did tendulkar really peaked?

  • ... o you remember a vinod kambli? many wonder why he retire from test with an average of 54? he was phased out because he between these years he repeatedely flopped in odi, but even with a form so bad he could hardly hit bat to ball he came back with an test average almost untouched.

  • and mcgrath did not come to india in 98 why?

  • tendulkar had a poor series against sa in india when donald was aroun. he scored an awesome 169 in sa. btw steyn is no way less than donald, infact better. he has four tons against him with 2 in sa. in odi he has 5 tons afgainst him.

  • lara is an inferior batsman to tendulkar. tendulkar has the best balance ever. his body flexibility with a straight bat was without peer in 90 an pretty good in noughties. lara is flashy. tendulkar averaged 58 in 90(highest in decade). except ravid all others averaged below 50. ponting 46(to be fair he was starrting out) lara managed 47.

  • @ankit8150 obviously you dont follow this game...there was one point in lara career when he averaged over 62.....dont you realize tendulkar has never scored 500 runs in a test series? point out one thing in cricket tendulkar did and lara didnt....i could name countless things lara did...tendulkar ever scored a century in both innings of a test match? NOPE!!!!!!

  • cOme On pakiS lOser braIn lara kya tum lOgO ka baap hai jO uSki siDe lEyy kar India se muQabla karwa rahEyy ...rEallly u pakis are juSt fu......kinG natiOn

  • aahhhh!!!!! AGAIN !!!! one more video with stupid arguments and comparisions !!! the video is about an incredible shot and not who is better !!!!! any ways,,.... GR8 SHOT LARA !!

  • @lovefromshivi1 You brought us to the heart of the matter !!!

  • @road2rock- your comment is so immature i wonder how do you even know to handle a computer?

  • @dilkash thats not a pull shot thats a jumpy flick. and i agree thats good. that was one of lara's speciality, but a very particular and limited shot. and as for such blashphemous comments... are you retarded? your level is a reflection of the low brow fan base of lara. he was a jumpy un balanced idiot.

  • lara cannot play spin his bat is not straight enough.cant play bounce his stance is too low. cant play spin-is not used to it.

master against medium paced bowlers on medium paced pitches

  • @ashokatibrewal The way Lara has handled Shane Warne, I think nobody has...

  • @brethart91 maybe, but ask warne who handled him better.sachin or lara

  • @brethart91 im no sachin fantic but i think he did play him better than lara did. as did steve waugh

  • @alpacinoravidutt I would always put them in the same class with Lara... And if you compare Lara´s contribution to the Windies and Sachin´s contribution to his country, you must admit that Lara´s contribbution for his team has always been bigger than the contribution of Sachin for his country. Lara has played more match winning innings than Sachin...

  • @brethart91 yes, i do agree with you. as a level headed indian i must admit sachin plays for records and not for the team( the recent england series where he refused to open because he doesnt feel comfortable. lost all respect for him). on the other hand dravid, kallis and lara always played for the team cause and played more match winning innings

  • @alpacinoravidutt Exactly... although I do consider Sachin as one of th finest batsmen of all time... no doubt about that...

  • @alpacinoravidutt just because he failed in the England series and he refused to open does not give u any right to call him a player who plays for records. If u look back at the south africa series before world cup only he scored two centuries in three test matches and dravid failed in every innings.nobody talks about that but if sachin fails and dravid scores then everybody is after sachin and people start saying that dravid is better than sachin.and get your facts right,

  • @alpacinoravidutt and if u take an example of india england series dravid score centuries in three matches but india lost all three matches but we cannot blame dravid for it bcoz cricket is a team sport and he tried his best. What i m trying to say is that same thing happen to sachin during the first half of his career. He was always the one man battling alone and a critic like u started to point finger on him that he did not play enough match winning knocks.Leave him alone and respect him.

  • @alpacinoravidutt :Don't dare call yourself indian if you don't love sachin. If sachin is selfish then you are a traitor. You know what is unselfishness? When he lost his father in 1999,he still came to play for india in world cup. He didn't want to come.He came for our country. He was crying like hell those days. when dravid declared the innings when he was on 194 not out,he didn't speak anything. When umpires give him wrong decision,he never shows dissent.

  • @brethart91 :Have you ever seen sachin bat.In 1990's, If you could take sachin's wicket you win the match. It was like that.Sachin never had support of great bowlers. And for your knowledge, lara hundreds have won 8 tests and sachin's have won 20.And I don't want to talk about ODIs.And about contribution to cricket.Come to india, you will know.

  • @mohitsn519 Lara won less games for WI cos he played in an awful team, he literally single handley carried the hopes of the entire team, compared to Tendulkar who played with some great players i.e. Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Sehwag etc. The fact that Lara won as many tests as he did on his own performances is really something in itself, just think how he would have performed in a half decent team!

  • @bertyblue :I agree widh you mate. But sachin too played in an ordinary team.Rahul, laxman ,tec came in end of 1990s.But india never had good bowling attack.West indies did have ambrose, walsh that time. And bowlers only win matches. You can check sachin's centuries too.India shall have comfortably won so many matches when sachin scored a century but india lost because of its poor team.

  • @mohitsn519 how many times did sachin score a century for india and they made less than 400? remember when sachin started his career he was battting at number 6...he only stared batting at 4 since 1992...he played with vensarkar, shastri and azahruddin....then kambli came into the team in 93....remember sachin has never batted at number 3 either...so how long did sachin really played with a weak test batting line up?

  • @MultiSazam : For your kind knowledge, Sachin's best tons have come when all around him failed and india scored way less than 400. For example,(1) 136 vs pak in 1999,chennai(his best test innings),(2)116 vs austrailia 1999,melbourne,(3)122 vs england,1996,( next highest was manjeraker's 27 of 100+ balls), and many many more . I can't list all here.Space is too less.Check cricinfo. His each century against SA and Aus have been gems.

  • @mohitsn519 you missing the point am trying to make....if sachin has 50 test hundreds or whatever the case is then you only just called 3 times when he made runs and the rest of the team failed...and gentle reminder...sachin was rubbish verses australia when mcgrath played...he averaged just 36....he was also rubbish against south africa when donald played in both forms of the game as well...he averaged 31 in test matches and 22 in one day internationals....

  • @mohitsn519 i just check my stats from 92 when he started batting at number 4 before the likes of ganguly and dravid came into the team and more than 3/4 of his centuries were scored when he got proper starts...if you think am lying go and check the stats....and this is before dravid, ganguly, laxman and sehwag....so you could imagine the kind of starts he got with those players

  • @MultiSazam : Kambli played only 17 test matches.Vengsarkar had test average of 42. Shastri's average 35. And morever they were flat track bullies. It was about sachin and sachin only.Get him out And win the match.

  • @ashokatibrewal,

Lara is the only batsman who dominated Murali in Sri Lanka over a test series. No other batsman has ever done that

  • @ashokatibrewal

Ashok you are a gay fag. You write the same comment on every Brian Lara video. Go burn in hell. I hope the demons devour your flesh for uttering such blasphemous turd like comments. Seriously, stop jacking off to these videos, and stop being jeolous of such a magnificent pull shot - a shot you can't even play if you even dreamed it in the wildest dream you crazy nut! And, I bet you can't even bowl more than 65mph. Fuckin brewal saalaa!

  • @ashokatibrewal Sir, then I believe you haven't seen Lara bat. You watch Lara batting or Saeed Anwar, both of them displayed same class. Just the fact that Lara and W.Inidies cricket didn't succumb to political interference, and that hurt Saeed Anwar.

P.S. Lara has beaten badly Shane Warne, Muralitharan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Anil Kumble THE BEST SPINNERS of 90's. Honestly 2000's didnt produce any GREAT of spin bowling whom LARA could play like fun.

Mendis came too late; neither BHajji had that class

  • @ashokatibrewal you're a fucking downer twat, mate.

  • @ashokatibrewal shows how little you know about cricket

  • Lara was such a reliable player for us, he is my cricketing Idol!

  • dunno if itz jus me or sum other ppl too durin a momentary lapse of attention sumtymz while watchin lara bat i think im watchin a break dance video :/

lol wt eva happenz conventional waii of keepin yur both feet on da ground a balance....buh ahwell a genius has his own waiizzz.... fair play
