Whoever says she has a "little" voice hasn't heard the video until the end.. she uses it as a stylistic medium to sing more lightly and softly at the beginning, and then she makes the song grow towards the end.
And WTF she is wearing? With all the peeps who keep complaining that she doesn't dress gothic enough for a band like Nightwish, I'd like to mention that her blouse is from a gothic store. ;)
when I first heard anette sing this, I didnt expect it to be that great. but full credit to her she really does pull it off just in a different way from tarja. it doesnt make her a bad singer just because she doesnt sing like tarja. I think the song was built around tarja's voice as was ghost love score(especially) so it will sound better with tarja, it's more compatible. but anette is a wonderful singer and a welcome addition to the nightwish family. I'm sure I speak for the majority here

@BoUrnNe26 you do have a point but I'm personally happy with the way anette sings the old songs and maybe tuomas is as well. maybe tuomas has deliberately left the songs as an act of faith in anette. after witnessing what he has written over the years its fair to say he's pretty clued up in the songwriting department so chances are he has noticed but feels it doesnt needs tweaked or re-written. have to admit though, an overhaul of the songs to suit anette would be good as well

You're never going to be able to read a comment thread on ANY new nightwish song without some Tarja vs Annette arguements. It just won't happen. You have to realize that when , Nightwish really started getting attention in the states for example was with , Oceanborn. At the time I can't think of any other band with the style of vocals that , Tarja brought. That's what made people stop and give a second listen. If they started with , Annette , people would have moved on.
Another band with a similar change of lead singer that still to this day causes stupid arguements is that of , Sepultura. When max bailed and sepultura put in , Derek Greene , man that was horrible. Sure he can growl or whatever but it just wasn't the same. And Soulfly , people were expecting Sepultura v2.0 but that just didn't happen. They were both just average bands when they ( max and igor ) were apart. meh ...whatever

Brave girl!! I don't like this new Nightwish, but honestly have to admire Anettes gourace to come on stage and sing Tarjas beloved songs. It's not Anettes fault that Tarja was kicked out of the band.
But she still shouldn't even try singing some of the songs such as Wishmaster. I've got no beef against Anette because I think she's a good replacement for Tarja. However, she should just shut up and sing her stuff without having to ruin such beautifully sung songs. But then again, atleast I can understand what the song's lyrics are without having to look them up which by the way is a big plus haha. I love Nightwish for their music but with Anette, I kind of appreciate it more.

Of course it's not as good like Tarja, but that's because Toumas wrote this song to her, to her voice. Can you imagine tarja singing "Amaranth"? No. I think they both are really great! But they are so different.

Songa has changed since 2005 with the remake, wich didn´t sounded good with Tarja.
Still, original Oceanborn version is superior, but this Anette´s version is realle really good, she stayed in tune, sang the soft parts really pretty, i just doon´t get all that hate towards her, she didn´t do anything against Tarja...
Sounds like the crowd is so bored they're chatting away while the band's performing this song. That never would have happened with the old Nightwish.

I must say though, this is one of Anette's better renditions of any Nightwish song. She does better in the beginning of the song than towards the end though. I've noticed the same thing when tries to sing Nemo.

Tarja's voice is what made this song... Trying to have Anette sing it just doesn't work. Their styles are too different to compare them, so don't bother with the whole "Anette rocks / sucks" debate; the band's changed, get used to it.

Saw them in Los Angeles 3 days ago and they didn't play this! That disappointment aside, they were fantastic. Was suprised by the marked improvement by Annette, she is really hitting her stride. Looked great with blonde hair too.

Yea, she sings pretty darn well with her own stuff but unfortunately, cannot completely handle Tarja's vocal requirements for songs like this. She does pretty good with this song but during the final chorus it sounds like Christina Agulara(sp?) singing a pop song.

She should stick to her own songs, she cannot handle the songs Tarja used to sing. She sounds okay with the new nightwish songs but sucks with operatic songs, her voice isn't strong and/or trained enough to handle the essance of the song.
When Tarja sings this the song is full of emotion and brings tears to my eyes with annette it just sounds like she is singing to get through the song. Song-by-numbers: Emotionless.
If she ever tries to sing Ghost Love Score I'll disown the band!

But she still shouldn't even try singing some of the songs such as Wishmaster. I've got no beef against Anette because I think she's a good replacement for Tarja. However, she should just shut up and sing her stuff without having to ruin such beautifully sung songs. But then again, atleast I can understand what the song's lyrics are without having to look them up which by the way is a big plus haha. I love Nightwish for their music but with Anette, I kind of appreciate it more.

Of course it's not as good like Tarja, but that's because Toumas wrote this song to her, to her voice. Can you imagine tarja singing "Amaranth"? No. I think they both are really great! But they are so different.

Songa has changed since 2005 with the remake, wich didn´t sounded good with Tarja.
Still, original Oceanborn version is superior, but this Anette´s version is realle really good, she stayed in tune, sang the soft parts really pretty, i just doon´t get all that hate towards her, she didn´t do anything against Tarja...

Sounds like the crowd is so bored they're chatting away while the band's performing this song. That never would have happened with the old Nightwish.
Hell, even Tuomas looks like he's bored stiff, just tapping the keys on his keyboard with total lack of enthusiasm.
I must say though, this is one of Anette's better renditions of any Nightwish song. She does better in the beginning of the song than towards the end though. I've noticed the same thing when tries to sing Nemo.

Tarja's voice is what made this song... Trying to have Anette sing it just doesn't work. Their styles are too different to compare them, so don't bother with the whole "Anette rocks / sucks" debate; the band's changed, get used to it.

Saw them in Los Angeles 3 days ago and they didn't play this! That disappointment aside, they were fantastic. Was suprised by the marked improvement by Annette, she is really hitting her stride. Looked great with blonde hair too.
