SWAT 3 CQB, SWAT 4 and SWAT 4: Stetchkov Syndicate are the 3 BEST strategic and tactical slow paced but highly realistic games out there with lots of enjoyment. And they do support mods/maps/mission editors.

No game today comes close to the level of enjoyment from these.

@sukkahiki666 If you downloaded the game, you probably got a bad download, either because the actual file is bad or it didn't copy correctly. If that is the case, you'll have to find a different download

@sukkahiki666 In that case, you should check out the SWAT 4 message boards. The people there know quite a bit about how to get this game to run, especially fixing common problems. Alternatively, you could check to see if that file is in the specified folder. If it isn't there, use windows explorer to find it on your game cd and copy it there manually; or download the file and put it there

hate swat 4 cuz the fucking console commands like god, fly, that i was told worked, when I enter them, they dont work WHY THE FUCK NOT???? EnableDevTools= was missing from the swat4.ini file, for both the original and expansion so i put it in for the expansion, even tho i put it in EnableDevTools=True the commands still dont work anybody know why?

This is a really good game, very challenging and realistic as well (well except for the fact that they mobilize exactly 5 SWAT officers and 2 snipers against 20 militia terrorists). I like it.

Swat 4 is awesome but if you die, you lose and that really sucks when the last gay shoots you when everything else went so fine. In Rainbow Six you don't fail, you just lose the guy and if he was good shooter that sucks but if he wasn't it's not so bad then, and btw there hostages follow you but here the cops arrest them :D

Love this game. Can get frustrating though, you need to be very patient. It's also a tactical shooter, so it also requires more planning than actual combat. Still, very fun game...I did get really pissed though, when I couldn't find the last hostage in a level.
