@robpavi1 Christmas wasn't made to replace any pagan holiday, The leader of the Catholic Church gathered together historians and scientists to figure out when God put Jesus into Mary's womb. Somehow they concluded that it was March 25th and so logically Jesus would have been born on December 25th since it is 9 months later. The Catholics even have a holiday to celebrate Jesus's conception. I don't know what the name of it is or what they do to celebrate it because im not Catholic.

And in the Winter season many pagans held celebrations around the Winter Solstice and mainly the time of Yule. The switch was not based on sneakyness but a way to ease the culture shock, by placing the focus of the festivities around the birth of the Savior who came to save ALL of mankind.
