@closer71 not exactly. the reality is that Obama's pulling only uniformed troops out (a massive State Dept mercenary army of at least 10-20,000 will remain). but as has been reported, Obama is only pulling out because all of his MASSIVE efforts to EXTEND the status of forces agreement failed. He's not leaving because he WANTS to. He's leaving because he HAS to. Al Sadr warned the Iraqi gov't that if they extended, he'd mobilize his loyalists to wage war on them and resume civil war.

The monetary system is inherently inflationary, there is no way they can avoid inflation because its at the very core of the system, othervise interest rate would not be possible, but at the same time the money to repay the interest rate doesn't exist yet, so they have to print more money and inflate the currency to keep up.

i'm not afraid of any QE. as long as there is no demand, no inflation. unless the money the feds print goes to speculation which will cause inflation. the QE goes to the banks to await the HUGE deflationary crash, then the banks with the QE cash buys up everything for pennies on the dollar. That is the end game, NOT hyperinflation. time to get smart and hold cash.

All else being equal, it will take more units of the currency to buy a good once the money supply has been juiced greatly.

The 19th century was a deflationary boom period with prices gently falling and real wages rising.

A rapid price deflation in the wake of a phony credit bubble of excessive credit creation is painful, but it's necessary medicine.

A price is a relationship between the money (a commodity) and what it is being exchanged for. A money is a unit of measure.

If productivity gains are occuring in an environment of stable money, prices should fall.

That's what happened from 1788-1913 with exceptions being when fiat paper currency was used.

Specific prices can rise for many reason, but if they rise in the aggregate it is due to debasement of the money.
