I first got to know Roy on SeaQuest. Even though he panned the series, he blew all the other actors on that series out of the water (pardon the pun). He was truly a very talented man. We will miss you so much Roy!!

The line most people remember from "Jaws" is when Roy first sees the shark and says "you're gonna need a bigger boat". But my favorite line has always been at the end of the movie, when Quint revs up the boat as the shark is chasing it, and says "we're headin' in, Brody", to which Roy says "THANK CHRIST!!" Awesome line!! R.I.P, Roy.

The best police chief in film history. First Quint now Brody. Scheider, Shaw and Dreyfuss really kicked some shark's arse together. He was truly a superb actor who will always be remembered for "Jaws." But one overlooked film he did was "The 7-Ups." He played a really tough cop. I think the car chase scene he was in was better than the one in "Bullit," which is saying something.

Remember when they got Roy out of the car, how he looked sickly green? I read that they filmed it right after the stunt man miscalculated and rammed that truck, taking off the roof of the car. The stunt man was OK, but Roy thought he was dead. He wasn't faking that sick look and greenish tint.

I had the pleasure of meeting Roy Scheider. We, quite by chance, took the "est" seminar training together and talked at length. He had just been nominated for Best Actor ("All That Jazz") and I asked him what he had planned as his next project.
