  • how big is it now

  • @bedonk1 :)) good question. I don't have anymore. I took back to local aquarium store a while ago.

  • sweet shark!

  • I dont think anything is wrong with keeping it in that tank u will just have it for like 2years then up should sell it or upgrade

  • were is that

  • Hey Ftprimp, there not only IS such a thing as a cat shark. It happens to be the largest family of shark.and its spelled I.D.I.O.T not that an ityit like you would know that xD

  • Poor thing in a small pool.

  • and if you want a nurse shark kind of replica, buy a Banded cat shark (grows up to 41 inches) and buy a 180 gallon aquarium and its babies are banded black and white (hence the name) but when they grow, the bands start to fade and they start to look like nurse sharks

  • 80 gallon tank is to small yyou need aleast 5,000 gallon to keep a nurse shark.

  • WHEN IT BECOMES BIGGER IT WILL EAT YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!

  • sharks dont belong in tanks --' i really hope this will be forbidden soon... poor things...

  • normal nurse sharks dont get 14 feet, more like 7. I dont give a damn what wikipedia says

  • To all who read this we need to NOT support pet stores that sell nurse sharks. It is cruel and inhumane to keep an animal that in the wild will reach 14 feet. Knowing this, anyone who buys one of these creatures is accepting the fact that they will ultimately kill their animal because they won't ever be able to provide it with the space it would have if left in nature. Do not buy NURSE SHARKS. JUST STOP. Research the species that you buy and stick to ones that get no more than 3 feet long =)

  • They get 14 feet and 400 lbs. What are you going to do then?

  • @seasave1 due to enzymes realeased naturally by all marine species in waste and such growth stimulation stunts when these enzyme levels reach a certain threshold. So as long as water isnt changed too often but kept clean the shark will reach a certain size then stop growing. Its cruel but then again as long as the shark is healthy shouldnt be a big deal.

  • @clipperdip Enzymes? Experts in old school? Lack of space has absolutly nothing to do with the GROWTH. Too many water changes? We NEED to change (half) the water monthly, sometimes more. Feeding oily foods i.e. squid (they spit out) or salmon. They WILL grow & become a 14" deal. Ask the bar that donated them to the childrens museum. Ask the Childrens museum that donated them to us & by our own slide show of pics we took over 3 yrs, clearly the growth issue MYTH has been broken. You'll see.

  • @clipperdip wow dude what are you even talking about? Listen you can't avoid water changes, that will result in poor water quality and ultimately kill your shark. Lack of space and bad water quality will stunt growth YES, but that shouldnt be what you aim to do! Don't say that your going to have bad water quality ON PURPOSE so you can kill your shark. You can't say "yes its cruel" but then say "as long as its healthy" thats hypocritical. its never going to be happy or healthy

  • can any one help? how big does a short-tailed nurse shark tank have to be ive got a 4 foot by 3 foot tank is that big enought

  • nemo?

  • what do you feed the shark???

  • @fishofjazz I used to feed it with frozen krill, and sometimes shrimp once in a while.

  • Aww the shark is sooo cute!

  • I hope you are reincarnated as this poor shark in your next life... Wow... Let me guess... You drive a hummer???

  • @LimeClock let me guess, your an animal loving hippie who actually gives a shit about fish

  • For all of you saying this shark will grow to its environment, you are wrong. This shark will grow according to the amount of food given, and even in that case will outgrow its tank. We have a nurse shark at the aquarium I work at whos back fused into a z-formation from being in a thank that was too small for her. This makes me sad seeing this video when I see how hard it is for ours too swim everyday.

  • NEVER buy something like this unless you are ALREADY prepared for it later. If you don't have a 10,000 gallon aquarium GET RID OF IT! SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!

  • its so cute

  • sand shark

  • holy shit is that a bow front

  • you need a bigger tank

  • What are your plans for the shark when it starts growing to its final 12'+ length?

  • its so cool!

  • does anyone no wher i can by a shark like this.

  • @marvgib2121 If you cant spell 'buy' you aren't ready for a nurse shark, sorry.

Unless you have a 10,000 gallon tank you shouldn't get one. I happen to know a few places to buy one, but I wont tell you because you would probably try to shove it in an 80 like this guy.

  • btw, that a cat shark, and, dude u need a bigger tank for it, it swan across slowly in less then 4 seconds.. ):

  • @devilhamsters nurse shark, dumbass

  • it's beyyer to have like 5 sharks beacuse, if u only have like 2 they will fight, and if u have 5 they wont fight as MUCH because they wont know who to fight.. true fact with bettas(chinese kung fu fighting fish) it worked for me when i had 5 of them.

  • Does any one know where I could find a shark that only gets to about 14 inches that can eat something bigger than it for a cheap price?

  • for one i think nurse sharks ARE cat sharks after all cat sharks are the largest family of shark. another thing is i agree for a nurse shark u need about 600 gallons and so u need to figure something out about giving it to some breeder or adoption or something along those lines.

  • idiot.

  • @ctarshis01 you are all fucking idiots. Nurse sharks get to 14 feet. Thats longer than a 600 gallon tank. You need at least a 10,000 gallon tank for a nurse shark. You are all so fucking stupid. I hope no sharks are ever unfortunate enough to be in your care

  • @ZBT3091 wow that was mean you could have said that nicely

  • No, no, no, no, no, no!!!! NO!!! That is NOT a Nurse Shark, it's a Golden Retriever!!!

  • @mike101bc I thought Golden Retriever is a Dog....

  • @mike101bc Nice!

  • @mike101bc dog dont live under water....

  • there are cat sharks...coral catsharks live in the indo pacific. "banded"cat sharks, the type most commonly seen in captivity, are not true catsharks. nurse sharks and leopard sharks are sadly found all too often in the pet trade, and are illegal to own in many places. a fish will grow as large as it can in a small system, before the balance of pollutants that its body produces are too much and the water becomes toxic. in addition, a shark kept in too small a system will often die of stress.

  • that's a nurse shark alright...probably doomed to die way before its time. they need an aquarium about the size of a living room to live in captivity. also, that damsel may very well bully and stress the shark to death...or pick out its eyes. weird but true...sharks stress in captivity, and often fall victim to triggerfish or damsels...weird...

  • hteres no such thing as a cat shark ityit

  • THAT IS A CAT SHARK NOT A NURSE SHARK

  • No it's a nurse shark...

  • idiot.

  • idiot.

  • ha your doimino dasmel is like OMG!!! lol

  • can you make a video of it when it cries or omething? lol nice vid

  • Yes some animals do grow according to the area they are being kept in but it's not like they grow XXXX big and then suddenly stop. Their growth might be slowed down but eventually they DO outgrow their tank.

    VERY nice looking shark though!!

  • also if their tank is too small they have shorter lives aswell

  • they get big !

  • ummm that shark wont reach full size, only way is if it is out where it really belongs, i depends on how big the tank is . the bigger the tank the bigger the fish, P.S thats with pretty mush all fish

  • idiot.

  • Its needs a bigger tank, for fish and places to hide and a mate.

  • it's better to own 6 sharks then it is to own 2. If you only own 2 then 1 will dominate the other, always bullying it. If you own 6 than they all tolerate each other :)

  • Lol thats not true with real sharks. But it is with bala sharks which aren't real sharks...

  • 90,000 gallons for two bull sharks, they can 11 feet.

  • What are you going to do with the shark once it reaches his/her adult size?

  • African78 Oh shit I meant to say 9,000 gallons lol for the actual Bullsharks but u still need to have a 75 Gallon if ur talkin about the catfish (which live in Brackish water at least one teaspoon of AQUARIUM salt per gallon)

  • 900 Gallons but if u mean the catfish then it'll be 75 lol

  • thats not a bamboo shark its a nurse shark but it will need a lot bigger tank but a very nice fish

  • bratvlad - please have a thick skin when you read this...

    I hope you are loaded and that ferrari belongs to you because you really only have 2 options here;

Option 1 - construct a REASONABLY sized tank for this animal (ABSOLUTE MINIMUM 5,000 gallons!)

Option 2 - find a way to humanely transport it back to the ocean.

There are NO public aquariums that will want to accept it when it gets to big. These animals have a certain novelty appeal to them but they are not pets.

  • It is actually illegal to release any captive fish back into the sea! There are shark rehabilitation programes that do quarantine and release sharks but I don't remember their name offhand.

  • I really hope you get a bigger tank for it :(

  • No thats def. a nurse shark in fish tank way to small.

  • Nice shark but he will get atlest 10ft long so I hope you have a real big tank or pond for him. BTW I think you paid to much for him, I could get one for way less if I had a big swimming pool to put him in. But I don't YET, Good luck they grow fast.

  • thats a cool shark
