  • What's the difference between the single lights and the second lights? And what does the sentence says in the letter box underneath?

  • @daniel849 I think it means the track nearest is the activated track and the double means its either one.

  • Why the bell and indicator of what track on first train, but chime and no track indicator on second longer train?

    Cute video

  • I enjoyed looking at this video. Is it in Japan or China or Korea? Were you there visiting on a trip. Thank U---.

  • @bgc4522 It's now 3 million.

  • The bottom set of symbols represents Ichibata Densha.

The top set represents JR West.

  • What is the purpose on this movie? Why did 1 million people watch it?

  • @bgc4522 Dont worry, there are hundred thousand(s) railroad crossing videos on youtube. People are not alwais interested in music. The people who film these, they are kinda like collectors, and are fans of public transport and the perfectness of it.

The purpose of this video is to show the fans, how this railroad crossing is different from others and how its working, but not to have 2 million views from people that have no interest in this.

  • why did I just watch this? lol

  • JR万歳!!

Cool

  • whoa railroad crossing is yellow nad black insted of red and white

  • I love japan

  • Toonerville Trolley.

  • 1,257,585 views ? wow haha

  • Cool! I like that idea, although it doesn't make sense to have two sets of lights, one for each track as I see it.

  • shet

  • actually the fastest are asian and european, magelevs, tgv, ice etc

  • I like both asian, euro, and usa trains, but im more used to Usa locomotives

  • Oh, Chuck, relax.

    I found it interesting.

You can't know until you risk watching.

Do sit-ups as I often do when watching YouTube. Then it is not a waste.

Funny that they have two signals, one for each railroad.

Why would it matter whose train is coming and about to kill whomever is on the track?

Are those sensors aimed across the road to detect someone stuck on the tracks?

  • Idiot. -_-

  • 111

  • Stupid question maybe... but why does the bell gets actvivated the first time, and does the electronica bell gets activated the second time?

Does it has to do something with the direction the train is coming from?

  • I noticed as well.

    What you're thinking makes sence.

  • nimo5 described that two railroad company use this railroad crossing, and that each of them uses their own bell and LED flashing pattern.

  • @ TheSimasima: interesting... the fact that I asked it is because the description only has some question marks and other weird symbols (it probably are chinese or japanese symbols, which my browser doesn't support

  • They are different railroads.

    Still makes no sense.

Same signal and bell should be used for both.

  • poo poo dee doop

  • where is the country

  • japan

  • nice video

  • the soun changes when the train gets really close!

  • they should make a movie out of this idea... :(

  • omg that was intense!

  • malisimo

  • it wasnt the best thing ive ever seen

  • There is 2 tracks, on top 2 lights flash at once, on bottom only 1 light flashes at once.

  • I just wasted 2:22

  • Why ?

  • ok..

  • I don't know, why in 1:22 every light are red...=O

  • 521000, that how many people are crammed into that train

  • the tempo on the japense or chinese train alert bells is slower than here in Australia.

ps have no fucking clue why i am watching this, shit just appeared on my homepage

  • Try the German version - this will be twice as fast.

  • Likewise. I'm not just sure why I'm watching this.

    Slower than in Canuckistan, too.

  • at 1:15 to 2:14 the Alarm Sounds Like Cap Bepping

    aqui no brasil

  • I found it humerous that the gates and sound warned a whole minute for a two-car train. I have seen warnings in the U.S. of approximately 10 seconds for trains traveling at 65 MPH!

  • rail crossings in japan have much longer warning time than the one in the north america.

  • legal

  • where is this?

  • Japan...

  • Wait, I am confused. Why was their a loud mechanicle bell ringing first with only the lower set of lights flashing for the first train, then for the second train both sets of lights flashed and their was an electrical bell.

  • It is one field streetcar and the danger signal of the common railroad

crossing Otsu village road railroad crossing of JR. It can compare the

rumble of the danger signal with one field streetcar and the JR line

and the difference of operation pattern of the flashing light.

    translated the japenise writing

  • if these are quad signals the top lights repesrent a nother line after the first the bottom are the lines closeest to the camera

  • Here, let me try to clear things up. There's two lines.

    ###### <-COMMON

    ###### <-OTHER

The common one uses an electromechanical bell. the other uses an artificial tone by aid of a speaker to help distinguish the line the train is on. Does that help?

  • whats the point of that?

  • So you can know if it's a yellow train or an orange one that is going to smash you.

  • Or... couldn't you just look both ways before crossing the railroad lol!

  • @StarryKid06 lol and it gives u enough time to buy a coffee first too...lmao

  • bUSY CROSSING

  • The problem with all lanes gated is no way to escape if trapped. In a panic, some drivers may be afraid to break through a gate!! At least one could easily force through these flimsy gates. The gates should have lights for better visibility at night. Their LED lamps are better than ours!

  • Nice steady video. Would be nice to pan around. Strange - one pair of lamps per track? If four tracks, FOUR pairs stacked? Lamps too wide. US RXR signals look better. Nice no Horn. Have they grade crossing collisions in Japan?

  • The double lights are a really good idea. Eliminates the problem of someone starting across after the first train and getting hit by the second train. Notice also that the arms cover the entire roadway, making it almost impossible for someone to drive around. 100% safer then US railroad crossings. Almost fail-proof.

  • Almost, but in UK there are bus lane barriers that are concrete. that would make it a little more fail-proof; but then again, nothing's 100% fail proof.

  • When you idiot-proof something, they just make better idiots

  • HOPEFULLY, they dont suck as much.

  • Nice bell sound.
