  • This is quite unusual as women are normally great drivers.....

  • women drivers.........

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. The reason it looked like it stopped so fast was that the train applied the emergency brake as soon as the moron crossed the track the first time. I know there are a lot of stupid people, but that person has got to be up there as one of the dumbest.

  • Obviously a women

  • Some ppl need to get hit so they stop reproducing stupid

  • maybe tis jsut me but ti seems like an unusual crossing.

  • WOW! Great catch!

  • WTF, ok now this is a dumb ass driver, 90% of people who bitch about idiots driving infront of a train on their videos is a car that crosses like 30 seconds b4 the train gets there, this however was CLOSE!

  • NS needs to install real crossing gates to block the road

  • @gregrocks66 You are right about that. At 0:21, you can clearly see the gates still up on the other side of the tracks. What's that all about?

  • @rbjplay13, ??? What gates? There are no gates at this crossing.

  • what the fuck kinda rail road is that?

  • To those that say, "the crossing should be re-done", no it shouldn't. There is adequate protection. Multiple flashers are there. Stop signs. If you still get hit by a train here, it's YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT.

  • Well there's a blind spot from them trees. I don't see any crossing levers down, or at all. This intersection should be redone.

  • Comment removed

  • @drewkuch, what? Horn wasn't late. Horn was well before the crossing. No lights? I'm confused. What "no lights" do you mean? The red flashing ones she passed before she crossed the tracks the first time?

  • I dont think they need to put up crossing gates at any railroad/street intersection. The flashing train lights are enough to say "HEY, THERE'S A GOSH DAMN TRAIN COMING" if people are too dumb to realize that, then they're better off gone so we dont have to deal with their stupidity. Spend our tax dollars on more importnant things. We shouldnt have to idiot proof everything and not allow the thinning out the dumber of our population. It's common sense & if you dont have that, what do you have?

  • LOCO DRIVER ! XD

  • There are a lot of crossing like that and lot of crazy people how think they have the right of way

  • women....

  • If only the train hit her....then maybe she might actually look around. Only in America do drivers think they can outtun trains. Of course, she would probably sue NS and win...

  • wow the bell is so accurate in train sim, it sounds exactly like it

  • defo need gates there n retro "clang clang clang" bellls, but fuck im so pissed off at that lady, fuckin dum ass, n she would have drove off not even knowin of the shit she just caused...but yer seisly install boom gates.

  • YEA P5!

  • Yeah thats a messed up intersection...Were the rails there first? The neighborhood sprung up around them? It kinda looks that way.

  • Why did the train have to stop? The dumb lady had cleared the tracks before train even stopped, so im unclear why it stopped like that. What did you mean when you said a crew man had to walk the trian? Also thats one wierd intersection haha.

  • @TheWaynelds The engineer would have plugged the train when he seen her turn towards him. They then have to release the brakes again. I would have done the same. And I'm just going to assume they walked the train to make sure none of the cars came off during the heavy brake application. Better to be safe then sorry. Takes a few minutes to walk to train.

  • @TheWaynelds The engineer presumably hit the emergency brakes. Once you do that, there's no way to cancel it. The train will come to a stop and you have to wait for the brake system to recharge before setting off again.

  • @TheWaynelds Just a result of the way a train's braking system works. Unlike a car the default position for a trains brakes is 'on'; enough compressed air needs to be pumped into the system in order to release them. So to engage the brakes the engineer dumps the air; once this has been done it can take several minutes to build up the air pressure needed to release the brakes.

  • At first I was like where is the track!?!?

Just curious, is the train the thing you were trying to record in the first place or were you making a video of something else and the train come??

That is one odd intersection. Why don't they install the arms that come down? especially in a rural area.

  • @Smokie181, the crossing signals. I knew the train was coming and am interested in crossing signals. This one has a type I like that says NO LEFT TURN.

  • @wisecrac99 Here, we have a " no right turn' sign.

  • That intersection is an accident waiting to happen!

  • I think they should make the signs a little more clear. It's a little confusing, even from the camera :P

  • women....

  • This woman is either stupid or has ADD

Gotta beat the train, Gotta beat the train, Gotta beat the train... Oh look, a stop sign!

  • what a dumbass

  • Ive been in Anderson and that is a screwy intersection. The city and the RR both need to redesign it or close one of the streets.

  • Seriously she didn't hear that train horn and still stopped? WOW...I mean I get startled when people blow those loud horns on their cars much less a train horn lol

  • @BloodyRosesx, one of my favorite comments to this video so far! lol

  • The engineer should have been horning the crap out of that intersection we he saw this...

  • They should get signal gates for that intersection.

  • unrelated but, lady in car probibal watched this video 128,640 times on youtube

  • LADY LOOK OUT

  • @Joncingular Are you serious?

  • Wow that chicks so stupid & she actually stop for awhile, she would have been completely fuckd,i dn't think this was plannin, guy tellin the lady 2 get the fuck outta the way theres a train comin. I bet she was like "hey do i hear a train?i wonder which way its coming from sounds close i shud probly stop(looks in rearview) OH SH!T ,OH SH!T OH SH!T WHICH WAY SHOULD I TURN AHH!!!! F*CK IT RIGHT IT IS." PPL THESE DAYS Forest Gump wudda said to her "stupid is as stupid does" then slap her w/shrimp!!!!

  • Taru would never allow Chrissy into this area

  • yep there ya go. people are so stupid. makes me sick to my stomach.

  • @starsandbarsforever actually more like distracted than stupid.

  • First, let me say that houses in this neighborhood must sell for about $1.98. Who would want to live there? Secondly, this is the weirdest place to either put a train track or a neighborborhood, whichever came last. Third, if the signal is going, don't cross. Period.

  • @trinketbox1 that is some prime real estate if houses sell for cheap. At least that is one area of the market then that is not overinflated.

  • Did you showed this video to the Authorities so they could cite her irresponsible ass? god how reckless, worst if there were children in the van, they should just put crossing gates to stop them for good.

  • dumb bitch.

  • I have never seen such a retarded rail crossing/intersection/neighborhood. I would love to own a house on that corner.

  • wow stupid ppl.....but that is a bad set of crossing regardless lol

  • Wow. No wonder the insurance companies be tripping. Some people need they asses whipped. For real.

  • The location is clearly written in the discription people

  • @UHFCBAustralia, I'm getting used to it. I've tried to answer all the repeat questions in the description. I got a lot of questions wondering how I was there in the first place. Some even accused this of being fake or staged. lol

  • @wisecrac99 lol fake that did make me laugh, all you have to do is look at google maps and you will see how dangerous this intersection is and imagine how many times this happens. You could a whole channel filming these idiots im sure it happens every few days. don't let the trolls get you down and keep up the good work

  • Driver: Yeah he's gonna stop for me ok...

Conductor: GET THE F OUT OF THE WAY!!!!

Driver: He talking to me? OH ok my bad didn't see you there!

    Dumbass.....

  • That No Left Turn signal is old, I have a magzine with a picture from 1966, and in the background you can see one flashing. Very cool, I like those too.

  • It looks like the track crosses at an angle across the street, kind of confusing. How come they have to get out and "walk the train" and what does that mean?

  • @santarosie, such a sudden stop could do damage to the train in a variety of ways, so walking the train is an inspection.

  • @wisecrac99 OK, thanks. That makes sense. Stupid drivers!

  • This intersection/crossing is badly designed. No gates is one thing but since cuts across two streets simultaneously then it can be confusing at times.

  • Where is this At?

  • Love how she still comes to a complete stop at the stop sign. DURrrrr

  • the keey word in the description is "Lady". if she would have stayed in the kitchen, none of this would have happened...

  • I wish she got hit and the train crew just didn't give a fuck and went on their way. "Woops, never even knew we hit anyone!" ;D

  • wow thats a weird looking rail road crossing, going diagnolly through an intersection like that.

  • half of me wishes the car got hit, call it 2st century dawinism.

  • Wow, that is insanely stupid. I bet she feels that the train stopped she did the right thing, but she really did the wrong thing on many levels

  • im gonna be honest, at 0:30 i saw the train, but i didnt notice the tracks so i thaught it was goin down the road lol im an idiot.

-plus no wonder.. it was a woman driver

  • Why did they stop to "walk the train"? I don't know much about trains.

  • she wont get away, she'll be home alone one day and it'll be waiting for her , lurking around her house. she'll be in the shower and when she least expects it, the train will annihilate her.

  • This crossing should been gated; we have one like this in our area with two four lanes roadway and a standard traffic light (not a four way stop sign). Way too many wreck because idiots in rush hour traffic tries beat the train just to get stuck at the red light on the other side.

  • @bluetheta, do you mind if I ask where this is at? I'd like to see it on Google Maps.

  • @wisecrac99

The iroad is called Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park IL.

  • Comment removed

  • @tank2g2, lol. I see you caught that.

  • @wisecrac99 it's on the description.

  • I kno the train driver mad take 20 minutes just to get back up normal speed. Train driver: stoopid ass bitch wtf u doing lol

  • "Mommy, Mommy, Take us home quick! Barney the Dinosaur is coming on!"

"OK Kids! Mommy is hurrying! First to the welfare office to pick up the check. Then to to the convenience store, to buy you some junk food. Then we go home and watch OMG WHAT IS THAT BIG BLACK THING IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR!"

God, what an idiot. Now I know why Green Day wrote the "American Idiot" song. You should use that as bumper music to this video. It would fit perfectly.

  • women drivers! lol. should have been jailed for that.

  • God what stupid people do to risk their lives these days when lights are flashing that means STOP

  • "hmm what's that noise, I'd better check the mirrOH MY GOD! A ZIT!"

  • That is a bad place for a crossing. Good thing she moved out of the way, but that is a very unusual crossing; esecially if one is not familiar with the area.

  • THEY HAVE TO PUT SUM CROSSIN GATES

  • Even though that was 40 years ago- it's like it happened five minutes ago (my memories are so deeply etched) as I had the RAILCAR'S REVERSE CAB "tailend_charlie" (birdseye) view of the view of that car- as it was finally coming to rest- whilst the railcar SLID another 250 metres (PAST the crossing).

I never drive over ANY railway crossing AT SPEED- regardless of whether alarms are fitted (or not) as sometimes even they can fail- and I always treat SIDE ROAD car intersections "exactly the same".

  • Unfortunately .. that "LEVEL CROSSING" .. was one of the hundreds .. that the NZR had at that time .. ONLY protected .. by a "distant" stationary (fixed) St. Andrews "sign_post" and a fixed horizontal (trackside) RAILWAY signboard.

No alarms... no lights .. no audible warning devices .. other than the approaching Railcars LOUD klaxon horns. (As both girls had been seen to be busily talking- and with the Consul's normal road noise- it's doubtfull they even heard the "klaxons" until AFTER impact)

  • Sadly- "neither" woman SAW the railcar- as the LATE EVENING "setting" sun was almost blinding them- as they drove "full_on" into the sun (the railcar driver saw- in the very last moments- both the young driver & her young passenger trying to shade their eyes- driving as they were -- DIRECTLY into the setting sun (and sadly- The driver ALSO had her RIGHT ARM obscuring any view .. that either woman would have had .. of the fast approaching (brake_locked_wheels) NZR "Vulcan" Railcar

  • The "car" (an old mud brown 4 door Consul- with two young women) didn't STOP.!!! Until the Vulcan 66 seater (BRAKE LOCKED) "five_axled" SINGLE railcar unit- slid over 1/2 a km around that curve (like a skater does- on ice) and impacted with the (full_speed) car- on the Railcar's L front corner.

The consul SPUN on the spot & it's rear hit the Railcar "midpoint". It came to rest clear of the track (as if it had stopped as it should have) FACING in it's original direction. But.!!!

  • Sadly- NOT ALL "railway versus roadway" crossing accidents get away this easy.

I was riding in the reverse cab (tailend) of a Vulcan Railcar as it entered a moderate RH curve- heading towards Wedderburn Station, NZ- in the 1970's (late one Sunday Evening- as the sun set over hills behind us) Anyways- I heard the shrill klaxons blaring incessantly & felt an ALLSTOP (emergency braking action). Sadly- this simply LIFTED the railcar onto "locked_solid" (slip_sliding) wheels. The car never stopped.!

  • The CAR driver was STILL "seatbelted" into her seat (but) Upside_Down, on the side of the road- as the seat had been TORN from the car (she was dead).

The passenger- we couldn't find at 1st- until a moan was heard.?

She had been forcibly SLID out of her seatbelt and RAMMED hard UP under the DRIVERS SIDE dashboard. She had been decapitated & was still alive (until JUST before the ambulance arrived).

I was a RAILWAY EMPLOYEE travelling on service- thus had to help the gaurd & driver (I was 17)

  • Well -- I've seen some real bastardized crossings in my life .. but whoever DESIGNED the intersecting roads .. AND the oblique angle -- of the railway crossing as well -- just HAD to be the stupidist roading engineer -- of all time.. (as any idiot knows .. A SIMPLE RE_ROUTING of all roads .. AWAY from there -- would ensure .. that this situation .. would NEVER - EVER -- have any "fatal" consequences .. written all over it (just waiting -- for an inatentive driver -- to become ensnared within it)

  • This is what happens if you play with trains that are not yours.

  • Ignorant ass people!

  • do not try this at home. good video greetings

  • Had to put the train into emergency and call it in as a close call I sure the driver of the mini van shited thier pants. What an Idiot. What the hell was they smoking or drinking?

  • that shit stopped on a fucking dime!!!!!!

  • If you are deaf you shouldn't be driving

  • retarded action!

  • What is a level crossing? I hear that a lot but not sure what it means.

  • @blueaardvark1717 The people of the UK call a Railroad Crossing a Level Crossing. So, a Level Crossing is a Railroad Crossing.

  • @JonAxDrayda Actually-- a LEVEL crossing- is in reference- to BOTH the railway- "and the road" crossing (intersecting) each other "on the same level" and is NOT actually in respect of the road- or railway- being LEVEL (as many rural "so-called" LEVEL railway crossings- actually occur- with the road approaching and leaving- at a very MUCH lower level- yet it's HUMPED over the track- often when the railway- is ON a steep incline of it's own. So- WHAT IS LEVEL- about a crossing made "like" that.?

  • @QUIX4U A railroad crossing (US), level crossing (UK), "bahnübergang" (D), "spoorwegovergang" (B), or grade crossing all have the same meaning: it occurs where a railway line is intersected by a road or path on one level, without recourse to a bridge or tunnel.

  • @blueaardvark1717 A "level" crossing- is that point ..//.\\... where BOTH the roadway- and the railway "intersect" each other- on the same plateau (level) which is quite distinct from a NON_LEVEL crossing- whereby either the ROAD (or the RAILWAY) passes OVER the other- at a substantially HIGHER level (ie: where there is an underpass- or where the road goes Over a hill AND the railway line- whilst the railway line goes THROUGH a tunnel- UNDER the road) As both of those- are NON_LEVEL "crossings".

  • What idiot decided that would be a okay spot to put a train track?

  • Engineer probably hit the Emergency Brake.

  • wow... 1 of the fastest stops, up till now i didnt even know they could stop that fast god damn... take note ladies that watch this video

  • Women drivers. Say no more.

  • Probably the worst level crossing ever!

  • at least she stopped at the stop sign.

  • @jontrinh140wrestler She was on the phone.

  • That wasn't the train engine you heard, it was the engineer's heart beating out of his chest. I hope the driver of the auto learned their lesson. Not only did they get in front of the train by driving through flashing red lights, they compounded their mistake by turning right back in front of the train ,....AGAIN! Unreal.

  • It's just UNBELIEVABLE how close those trains pass by those houses. Hard to believe that situation is allowed to exist. Somebody is too close to somebody...either houses or trains. This video is a PERFECT example.

  • Great video, by the way. Good catch.

  • wow grate video !!!!!!! xD

  • this its by fr the closest cla crash trains vs vehicle to be seen so far by me , thumbs up and favorite

  • stupid people like that deserve to get hit

  • @AlmightyIn5ane That's women drivers for ya!!!

  • Who put the roads there... If the railroad was there first they should've made the roads in a way that wasn't as dangerous as that..

  • That is a odd crossing. They need to put gates there to stop this very dangerous area

  • I wish the train would have clipped her car enough to destroy it - but not injure her to teach her to stop at flashing red lights.

  • God damn!! Its people like her that make being an engineer seem like a scary job!!

  • It doesn't matter how complicated the intersection is, flashing red lights at a railroad crossing always mean STOP. That lady should not only have her driver's license revoked, but spend some time behind bars for driving like that. She not only endangered her own safety, but she caused the train crew to have to stop and waste time to walk the train and file a report, throwing the train late and costing the railroad money. These drivers never think about how it affects the train crew.

  • cool video!! and that person is just stupid

  • I woulda laughed and laughed if she got hit! The way you must look at it is this way the way I look at it "In some way she deserved it" Now you all are gonnas think Im fucked up but try it It really does help!

  • Who would live in them houses a few yards from the train? Trains must put the horn on every time when passing that road... D:

  • @TGmick me

  • @MilwaukeeSDman It would be too loud for me living on a quiet street lol The closest train tracks are just about a mile away and I still hear the horns sometimes

  • Where is this place, is it an active railroad, and when can I move there!!!

  • @Skarloey88 Anderson Indiana.

  • This is a crossing you don't want to run the flashing signals, or any other crossing for that matter.

  • @pdlsteeler1, simply put the best point of view possible. Don't run the lights. No matter how confusing the tracks are crossing the road, just stay behind the flashing lights until they stop flashing.

  • @wisecrac99 ...i have never seen a crossing that goes in the direction of the road...confusing maybe for an out-of-stater.

  • @Lifter85 Um .. Obviously U've never driven in a steep_sided (RIVER) area .. such as within a GORGE, which -- because BOTH the road & the railway line .. are - to all intents and purposes .. parrallel .. any point .. where that railway .. intersects with the roadway via a same_level (level) crossing- as ALL of those are obtuse (near) IN_LINE .. crossings .. whereby the trains .. cross the road .. and the cars cross the railway line .. ESPECIALLY- as they both are travelling IN THE SAME DIRECTION

  • @QUIX4U ...okay thanks for the info. but it seemed as if you were getting wise with me just b/c i said i've never seen that before...

  • @Lifter85 hey --- that's OK .. it's just my way -- of tossing first_hand info -- into the mix (having not only been a working party .. employed by the NZR on such a line .. but OFTEN .. when operating "motorised velocopides" (motor trolleys) - I have either been forced to "stop" or have actually BEEN HIT .. by stupid people .. whom ONLY looked for a HUGE TRAIN - instead of ANY railway vehicle .. (or simply forgot to look - period)

  • just wanted to know why he had to walk the train thanks and great video

  • Thats a crossing that needs to be reconfigured.

  • ... this is one helluva confusing array of streets and track intersecting... I'd almost put money on it that this mess is the result of intersecting local gov't jurisdictions-of-responsibility... With each-other and the railroads' right-of-way.

  • Women drivers these days...

  • just comes to show how stupid people really are.

  • It is a confused intersection. The train passes in the middle of the street. Never seen something like that. Very dangerous

  • @ Nandinhoization:

    Amen.

  • I wonder who the idiot that made a diagonial corssing.

  • Talk about a close call!!!! This is why gates should be a requirement at ALL rr crossings!

  • I would suggest that driver is now much more aware of the crossing and the dangers it involves

  • what a dumb ass thats the last thing to do to a train

  • Thats a NASTY bad crossing! i saw it the other day and thought "wow whay bonehead civil engineer designed that intersection?"

  • I bet when she saw the train stop she said, "O CRAP" and sped away.

  • intersection like that definately needs to be gated

  • @jimmyxtc69 Judging form the speed of the train, I'd say you are very correct. If a train a going to move through this area that fast, there should be crossing gates.. Good idea sir..

  • OMFG, that was scary.

  • Wow what a dumbass that lady was... truely born retarded!

  • The railroad should make all trains stop and flag or the dot needs to change the road lay out.... that is a stupid intersection

  • LADYYY LOOKOUTTTTTTTTT

  • @Waffles341, lol... yeah yeah. Scared me. :)

  • @wisecrac99 I bet it would, one of those heart stopping moments or just a... I can't believe this bitch : P

  • @wisecrac99 they should put crossing gates there...people have a tendacy to ignore the lights and besides the tracks are not easy to locate.

  • it was a women??? women shud not drive, im sorry but its very true.

  • Thumbs up if you think the driver is an asshole.

  • That could have been one for the Darwin Awards!

    WardyLion

  • I couldn't imagine doing what this stupid ass did looking out my rear-view mirror seeing a train coming behind. Oh then she's on the gas.

  • Kind of an oddball crossing.
