This is wonderful. I just discovered Carlo Domeniconi's compositions at a concert yesterday. I'd never heard of him before. And LiJie plays this so well. I'm impressed, by composer and player both.

I feel, and I repeat I '--feel--' not demand, that the listener get more time to absorb the opening theme as it is so recurrent. Anyway, that is just the difference between our interpretations.
My guess would be that people feel this inexpressive because she doesn't really show any emotions on her face. They can't really feel the emotion coming through the music instead. A person has to be open to it and most people are just much too close minded.

This was recorded for Li Jie's 'Classical Guitar' CD (not easy to find), and it is so far above anyone else I have heard, including John Williams' version from his 'Guitarist' CD. Li Jie is so musical and she just sparkles in uncompressed format with her Chen Zhi and Mario Gropp guitars. Her Sunburst, Gran Jota and Caprice 24 also are unmatched. Superb, and such a great listening experience.

Before XueFeng Yang began her career as soloist, she, Li Jie and other 2 students of Mr. Chen
even formed a guitar quartet band: "Four Angels" (天之娇女).
Can you imagine the awesomeness of this band?
This band still exist today, XueFeng Yang was replaced by ANOTHER student of Mr. Chen.
