  • NO IM WRONG :-)

  • ITS A B52 LOOK AT IT

  • @jeffs1000 NO!!! NO!!! NOT A B52!!! oh,boy...

  • Specifications aside - this is the most beautiful and graceful plane I've seen. It's a pleasure for the eye.

  • @Versus1984 I agree. I know a man who flew one of these. I don't know what he pilots now. I heard he pilots a plane that is small, goes high, is fast and goes on long missions. He is Airforce and was stationed out of Pensacola at the time. Any idea what it might be? My guess a manned spy plane that we know nothing about. Keep in mind, our last manned spy plane was the SR71. You think that would be decommissioned without a replacement waiting in the wings? No pun intended. What say u

  • I find the offensive systems officer so offensive! :))

  • @smadzenites And the defensive systems' officer overly defensive! :d

  • Ugliest American plane in the last 50 years or more would be the F 117 but you cant deny its performance and effectiveness. Best looking American planes, P51, A10, F22, B1B, F18, not necessarily in that order. F16, F15, F35 are definitely right up there as well. Regardless, all are as lethal as they come without sacrificing looks. I know I will take hell for putting the A10 up there. I just love that gatling gun with wings.

  • @Versus1984 I'm not very computer literate but how the hell did this comment get flagged as spam? Who flagged it?

  • @namznej My top 3 ugly American planes I suppose would be the F117, F111, and the A7 corsair. This excludes WW1 era aircraft of course which I know little about.

  • Ever notice how beautiful American planes are and how ugly Russian planes are? Dont get me wrong, some of their planes are effective but damn, most are down right ugly. Clearly the designers of our planes take looks into consideration. I know, bunch of people think the A10 is ugly. They are wrong. LOL.

  • @namznej

Well, I can't agree - there are quite a few Russian planes that are simply magnificent -

Tu - 160, Su 27, Mig 29, Tu 95...I have to admit though that up untill the MiG 29, the MiG series were not very pretty looking, nor the Su up until Su 25.

  • @Versus1984 I wont disagree with you completely on your point but isnt it remarkable the similarities their aircraft have with ours, especially the mig 29 and a few others. These similarities seem to occur a few years after our planes hit the sky. Would you agree with that?

  • @namznej

Yes there are similarities. For example between the Mig 29 the f-15 Eagle . I think it was even designed to match the F-15 in a air combat. Don't get me wrong i do think that generally US planes look better, but there are some pretty elegant Russian ones.

  • @Versus1984 BTW, I disagree with the TU95. Isn't that the Bear? I guess i can look that up here on YouTube. I will after posting this comment but if it is the Bear I think it isn't very attractive. Also, isn't the Bear so loud that submarines can actually hear them flying overhead? The A10 is a beautiful, magnificent, deadly, cheap, rugged and unique machine. It irks me to hear people bash it on the ground of looks. Didn't some Airforce generals son fly one to the dismay of his dad?

  • @namznej

Yes, Im talking about the Bear. He's noisy allright, but it's a remarkable machine - does its job for more than 60 years, even longer than the B-52 and it is by far the only propeller . As for the looks - well I guess its a matter of personal taste - i think it is an elegant plane - slick airframe, powerful engines, despite its propellers it can fly at 900 km/h and with the range of 15 000 km. Quite a bird.

  • @Versus1984 btw. these guys must have been radiated as fuck...carrying 24 nuclear devices some 36 hours under their ballsack...

  • Oh yeah.... the only reason it has a range of 7400 miles isn't due to fuel (it can be refueled.... duh), but that about the time the engines run out of oil. GE said they don't leak oil. Yeah.... riiiiiight. :D

Seriously, I'll never forget the years I worked on it. Very challenging, and it really honed my troubleshooting skills. :)

  • Riding in a Cadillac? Only when SMCS works, right? ;)

  • The tu-160 is a bit larger than the b-1 but was a scaled up copy of the b-1

  • yes, tu-160 is the russian equivalent

  • @creativeprojects720

    No, the Tu-160 isn't.

The Tu-22M is, because of numbers.

    B-2As in service: 20

    B-1Bs in service: 98

    B-52s in service: 85

    Tu-160s in service: 16

    Tu-22Ms in service: 150

    Tu-95s in service: 63

So you see it's not really equivilent.

  • @Heaney5551 that is a very formidable chart of aircraft in service. And I see how by the numbers the b-1 would be equivalent to the tu-22. But the design of the plane is almost identical (b-1 and tupulev 160).

  • Hey, thanks for posting this clip. I used to have this VHS tape, but loaned to someone and never saw it again. LOVEEEE the "BIG" B-1B. I have lived in Wichita, where McConnel AFB, used to host the B-1B's. These guys were transfered to a base in Gorgia in 2002. Is there a DVD version of this title?
