I know a lot of people think Omark isn't ready for the NHL but I believe he will only getting better. He's getting faster and his hands are gift from God, only good thing's in the future for this Kid.
I know a lot of peple think Omark isnt ready for the NHL but I believe he will only getting better. He's getting faster and his hands are gift from God, only good thing's in the future for this Kid.
no disrespect to Omark, but this was a shitty highlight package... I mean really, a goal off his skate makes his highlight package? Brutal.. I know this guy's got some sick hands in the shootout, lets see more of that...
I never said he was going to be "bad for his career." I simply don't think he will be putting up Forsberg type numbers in his career. I hope very much he will be a great player as I am an Oilers fan.
he's more of a Kovalev's kind of player. for what i see he controls the puck in the offensive zone and defensemen hardly can take it from him, plus he always knows where his teammates are.
If the Edmonton Oilers don't fuck it up, with Hall, Eberle, Pajaarvi, Omark and others, they'll be a really good team in the west for the next 5-6 years.
I'm not doubting this kids skills but. lets see him in the NHL a couple years before we call him the next one. cause i doubt he'll be able to pull this stuff of in the NHL. One shoot out goal don't mean any thing.
wow, i didn't even know this kid existed till his sick shootout goal against Tampa Bay, but he's gonna tear the NHL up. Can't believe Edmonton has 4 really great rookies in their line up now,
This kid has it all. Awesome hands, protects the puck like the sedins, sees the ice, passes like Gretzky , strong, quick, and plays with confidence. This guy can be great if he keeps working hard. WOW! The oilers are going to be unreal!
i love how jealous some people get when there are those who have a skill set many of us could only dream of. this kid has a lot of talent. i hope he becomes a very very big thing in the NHL. go team sweden!
It must be garbage...Thats why he is in the NHL. BTW he scored using garbage last night in a shoot out against and NHL goalie in his first regualr season start.
tm8>>no that move wouldn't work against D....but that was during the shootout...defiantly throws a goalie off. Rather then skating straight, you throw in a spin and makes the goalie start thinking a bit more.
Unfortunately, I didn't see the game, but I did see the highlights - to be honest the spin move wasn't anything exciting to me really as it was 100 feet away from the net, but the faked slapshot and the goal was nice. Did he dominate during the actual game too or just an exciting shootout move? I am just saying that many of the moves you see here wouldn't fly vs NHL Dmen... he would be on his ass... BTW, I am a huge Oilers fan and would love to see him dominate!
He may have the gift of pure goal-scoring...that's what Edm (and any team) needs/wants...I like the flip dangle and lucky bounce finish from 1:36-1:41...good luck Linus!
@mxlassi411 lololol please explain? How is then that Omark has played quite a number of games and has only had a handful of points? Maybe 20% of SEL Dmen would crack an NHL line-up.
he's played 15 games so far in the NHL and has 8 points in those games. These are his first 15 games in the NHL, you can't judge a player by his first 15 games saying he's going to be bad for his career.
@tm8services Linus omark, Taylor hall and nikolai khabibulin are the only reason the Awesome Edmonton Oilers are good love the team but theyd suck witout those three
@TheSuperBrett funny how everytime a team or player gets good everyone starts liking them.. i happened to be a major oilers fan including khabibulin fan before they were good
@Morphinators1 Uh? Ive been an oilers fan all my life... Im pretty sure that I can say that Khabibulin sucks based on the experience from last year and change my opinion of him if he starts the year like he has this year... Thats kinda how it works lol
Nice video. Omark has handles, no question there. I can't help but be reminded of Sidney Crosby with his ability to fend off defenders with his back to them. Good strength in the corners too. Looks like the Oil may have another beauty.

Sweedish league is not NHL but also HNL is not the God of hockey. Best players in NHL are Europians so that tells u all. I think he will do very well in HNL and help Oilers come back from that ugly ugly season they had.
@Alija16 best players in the NHL are europians??? you must be joking... Canadians are the best hockey players hands down... canadians dominate percentage of players that play in the NHL and are at the top of the league in scoring way more frequently than europians... fact
@charlesclassen Ok i agree that Canadian players are good but not the best. u say the fact is ? Ok Oveckin , Kovalchuk , Malkin , Forsberg , Twin Sedins , Sundin , want me to go on ? Be real bro . i live in Canada , Edmonton but reality is Europian players are snipers , Canadians are good over all but mostly very big and tuff players.
@Alija16 You name Oveckin and i give you Wayne Gretzky, You name Kovalchuk I give you Mario Lemieux, You name Malkin And i give you Crosby, You name Forsberg, and i give you Joe Sakic, You name The Sedin Twins, and i give you Gordie Howe and Bobby Orr, Maurice Richard (The Rocket), Dominik Hasek Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, Doug Harvey, Guy Lafleur, Scott Stevens Paul Coffee and Mark Messier And also currently out of the top 20 nhl leaders in points, 17 of them are Candians... We are the Best .
@Alija16 no don't go on.. just go to List of 100 greatest NHL players by The Hockey News on wikipedia.. you will find that only 10 players on this list are not from canada.. the first one at number 16... what does that tell you. you said the best players in the nhl are from europe.. the best players in the nhl would ultimately lead there team to win a cup correct?? only once has a European captain ever lead a team to win a cup.. Nicklas lidstrom... once...
@TheWhiskeyhead.... ok so in over 50 years only once has a european captain lead his team to win the cup.. and yes obviously you can be a leader without having the 'C' but most often the guy wearing the C is the most vocal leader.. the point I was making is that Canadians dominate the sport, and I would way sooner start a team with a core group of canadians than any other nation.. and 90% of people who know the game would think the same..
@charlesclassen of course you would, since the nhl is based in usa and canada, how many people in toronto would go see the leafs play if 90% of the players were russians? id do the same thing if i owned a franchise its the same thing here, if Djurgården or HV71 only had canadians, i dont think too many people would show up whatching the games.. sweden has won 2 olympics since 94 and some wc too, pretty good for a country with 10 million people, and maybe less than 500k players
you have to take in mind the soviets (including slovakia, czech republic etc).. if they had the opportunity to come, there would been more europeans in the nhl earlier too..
@Alija16 You knows whos gonna help the oilers come back? HALL. EBERLE. Yes, Paajarvi also he IS europian and I admit he's good. But Omark? I doubt he's gonna make the team.
Swedish league is not nhl, I doubt he will succed in nhl, the will destroy him thoose big player over there unfortunely. The best would be if he stayed in ehl and play for sweden in the pre tournaments
amazing, he doesn't stop watching the puck until its in the net, sometimes not until is stick is in the net too (2:00). Yet he knows where everyone is and has a great eye to feed a pass. Also, no angle is too sharp an angle to shoot from. I cant believe all the posts of oiler fans who minimize his ability against hall eberle and parjaarvi when he's right there with them.
@ostapov1 I liked you answer and that you have high expectation on Omark, but remember the swedish league is not nhl. Eberle may be overrated but he is more overall than Omark and better player for sure..
Jordan Eberle's world junior highlight reel blows this out of the water, if I am an oiler fan I am alot more excited about him. How did the last youtube sensation do in Edmonton 3years 7 games 3 assists
@briandog1001 Well, unlike Schremp, Omark has actually proven himself playing against men in two professional leagues. He's been Team Sweden's leading scorer for the past two seasons (we're not talking about international junior games here) and has two World Championships under his belt. Meanwhile, Schremp made his name against kids in the OHL. The two don't really comapare.
@hockey4lifeman the 2010-11 season he will play in the nhl, if he doesnt make the team right out of training camp, he will for sure get called up for a couple games throughout the season. And depending on how that goes he will possibly spend more time in the chel. getting lots of ice time and getting used to north american ice/ style of play will be the deciding factor though.
he also got 4 points in 9 games playing for sweden at the iihf tourney in germany a few months back. he was playing against nhl caliber players, most were much bigger than he is and seemed to still be able to play his game. thats a point every second game. if he has like a 25-35 point rookie year ill be happy, if he makes the team that is..
Size isn't as important in hockey as it used to be :) the new rules have actually made it so that being small is rather good aslong as you can keep your head up.
As of Linus Omark's future in the NHL, I think that he's either going to be brilliant or plain.. bad. It's hard to tell but I don't think that he's going to be just another average forward in the NHL
@emmaroseroberts0210 not much he can do about the size, Yeah might be we will c when the season begins. And he will gain alot of weight when he comes there the length he cant do much about,
Man får såna här härliga gretzkyvibbar av Omark. Säger inte alls att Omark är i närheten av honom men den totala kylan hela tiden oberoende av situation. Han har full koll på vad han kan göra med pucken i varje situation.
He may look like Bure in the offensive zone, but in the defensive zone he's about as effective as a sack of potatoes. Until he learns to play a complete game, I don't expect to see him in an NHL jersey- no matter how desperate the Oilers situation is.
@FTJFuelTheJet Fair enough, but Bure was far more talented offensively than Omark. I guess I'm just wary of these hyped up players coming to my team. The Oilers need real talent, not flash in the pan guys. I hope he works out, but I wouldn't bet on it. I have far more faith invested in Eberle and Paajarvi-Svensson than Omark.
im agree with you invudvah but oilers had already gagner cogliano paajaarvi nilsson eberle they re going to draft hall and omark aret all small players and they dont have any space in the lineup for everybody so i think omark should stay in russia he is going to play more than in north ameirca
@StevieRay126 this guy is a living highlight and is already doing well in the khl. you think gagner nilsson and cogliano would stay on the roster if omark decided to play for edmonton? what are you on, crack? this guy would tear up the nhl if he played a few years
I'm sick and tired of people saying that smaller players cant do anything in the NHL, smaller players are more elusive and fast that say a Chris Pronger or Zdeno Chara. I agree that you cant have a full team of small guys (Edmonton Oilers 09-10) but if you have like 3 or 4 then you can. Now I can officially welcome this great young kid to the best hockey market in the NHL. What a steal at pick 97!
if the nhl played on bigger ice, like in this league, there would be way less injurys, and more room for talent. There is not enough ice for the big players anymore. and it woud be more entertaining.

you dont have to be a captain to be a leader.. its not a personality-perk you get with the C.. Sidney Crosby being a good example of this.
TheWhiskeyhead 1 year ago
@TheWhiskeyhead.... ok so in over 50 years only once has a european captain lead his team to win the cup.. and yes obviously you can be a leader without having the 'C' but most often the guy wearing the C is the most vocal leader.. the point I was making is that Canadians dominate the sport, and I would way sooner start a team with a core group of canadians than any other nation.. and 90% of people who know the game would think the same..
charlesclassen 1 year ago
@charlesclassen of course you would, since the nhl is based in usa and canada, how many people in toronto would go see the leafs play if 90% of the players were russians? id do the same thing if i owned a franchise its the same thing here, if Djurgården or HV71 only had canadians, i dont think too many people would show up whatching the games.. sweden has won 2 olympics since 94 and some wc too, pretty good for a country with 10 million people, and maybe less than 500k players
TheWhiskeyhead 1 year ago
you have to take in mind the soviets (including slovakia, czech republic etc).. if they had the opportunity to come, there would been more europeans in the nhl earlier too..
TheWhiskeyhead 1 year ago
@Alija16 Best in the Nhl Are Europians, What NHL Do you watch?
jishua9999 1 year ago 2
@Alija16 You knows whos gonna help the oilers come back? HALL. EBERLE. Yes, Paajarvi also he IS europian and I admit he's good. But Omark? I doubt he's gonna make the team.
killerfish345 1 year ago
@killerfish345 I think he will

Swedish league is not nhl, I doubt he will succed in nhl, the will destroy him thoose big player over there unfortunely. The best would be if he stayed in ehl and play for sweden in the pre tournaments
MrNomy999 1 year ago
Hopefully Omark will be another piece of the Oiler puzzle.
He is great with the puck but without it is the question.

Now all we need is a defenseman who is commited to the team, and proves it. ;-) pronger, souray

@ostapov1 No shit. Assholes.
killerfish345 1 year ago
amazing, he doesn't stop watching the puck until its in the net, sometimes not until is stick is in the net too (2:00). Yet he knows where everyone is and has a great eye to feed a pass. Also, no angle is too sharp an angle to shoot from. I cant believe all the posts of oiler fans who minimize his ability against hall eberle and parjaarvi when he's right there with them.
ostapov1 1 year ago
@ostapov1 I liked you answer and that you have high expectation on Omark, but remember the swedish league is not nhl. Eberle may be overrated but he is more overall than Omark and better player for sure..
I hope you respect my respond.
Have a nice day or evening

MrNomy999 1 year ago
@MrNomy999 yeah i do appreciate it.
Still, too bad he didn't make the team (for now) that Penner, Brule, O'Mark line looked great.
But yeah, Eberle is my new favorite player, Pajaarvi is close behind.
ostapov1 1 year ago
@ostapov1 Dont worry, Omark will be a top-player in NHL, it's just a matter of time imo

Jordan Eberle's world junior highlight reel blows this out of the water, if I am an oiler fan I am alot more excited about him. How did the last youtube sensation do in Edmonton 3years 7 games 3 assists
briandog1001 1 year ago
@briandog1001 Well, unlike Schremp, Omark has actually proven himself playing against men in two professional leagues. He's been Team Sweden's leading scorer for the past two seasons (we're not talking about international junior games here) and has two World Championships under his belt. Meanwhile, Schremp made his name against kids in the OHL. The two don't really comapare.
WildApache 1 year ago
@briandog1001 Ok but Omark did this stuff against men in a pro league..
But I agree Eberle is a better prospect.

god he is soo fuckin dirty is he playin in the nhl?
hockey4lifeman 1 year ago
@hockey4lifeman the 2010-11 season he will play in the nhl, if he doesnt make the team right out of training camp, he will for sure get called up for a couple games throughout the season. And depending on how that goes he will possibly spend more time in the chel. getting lots of ice time and getting used to north american ice/ style of play will be the deciding factor though.
TheDubzcity 1 year ago
he also got 4 points in 9 games playing for sweden at the iihf tourney in germany a few months back. he was playing against nhl caliber players, most were much bigger than he is and seemed to still be able to play his game. thats a point every second game. if he has like a 25-35 point rookie year ill be happy, if he makes the team that is..

Challzor 1 year ago
if he got bigger, he would be one hell of a player, and would be guarantee a spot on the Oilers
emmaroseroberts0210 1 year ago
@emmaroseroberts0210 Yeah he aint that big, but he is strong as hell. Watch a game when he plays he is rly rly strong
xjedimindx 1 year ago
@xjedimindx he might be strong, but he get crushed by size on the board in the NHL.
emmaroseroberts0210 1 year ago
@emmaroseroberts0210 not much he can do about the size, Yeah might be we will c when the season begins. And he will gain alot of weight when he comes there the length he cant do much about,
xjedimindx 1 year ago
@xjedimindx ya, he has to compete with Eberle, Hall, and Paajarvi. GL to Omark
emmaroseroberts0210 1 year ago
Man får såna här härliga gretzkyvibbar av Omark. Säger inte alls att Omark är i närheten av honom men den totala kylan hela tiden oberoende av situation. Han har full koll på vad han kan göra med pucken i varje situation.
brickan2 1 year ago
He may look like Bure in the offensive zone, but in the defensive zone he's about as effective as a sack of potatoes. Until he learns to play a complete game, I don't expect to see him in an NHL jersey- no matter how desperate the Oilers situation is.
lupischuckle 1 year ago 2
@lupischuckle It's ironic you compared him to Bure, not exactly a defensive stud either ;)
FTJFuelTheJet 1 year ago
@FTJFuelTheJet Fair enough, but Bure was far more talented offensively than Omark. I guess I'm just wary of these hyped up players coming to my team. The Oilers need real talent, not flash in the pan guys. I hope he works out, but I wouldn't bet on it. I have far more faith invested in Eberle and Paajarvi-Svensson than Omark.
lupischuckle 1 year ago
@lupischuckle ya so is kane in the d zone but he just won the stanley fuckin cup you tool
snipsnapsnipe 1 year ago
@snipsnapsnipe Yes actually, Patrick Kane is far more defensively responsible than Omark. Thanks for helping to prove my point!
lupischuckle 1 year ago
im agree with you invudvah but oilers had already gagner cogliano paajaarvi nilsson eberle they re going to draft hall and omark aret all small players and they dont have any space in the lineup for everybody so i think omark should stay in russia he is going to play more than in north ameirca
StevieRay126 1 year ago
@StevieRay126 this guy is a living highlight and is already doing well in the khl. you think gagner nilsson and cogliano would stay on the roster if omark decided to play for edmonton? what are you on, crack? this guy would tear up the nhl if he played a few years
snipsnapsnipe 1 year ago
lol@haters :D.. dont u ever get tired of being bitter, insecure and jealous
brandbil22 1 year ago
I'm sick and tired of people saying that smaller players cant do anything in the NHL, smaller players are more elusive and fast that say a Chris Pronger or Zdeno Chara. I agree that you cant have a full team of small guys (Edmonton Oilers 09-10) but if you have like 3 or 4 then you can. Now I can officially welcome this great young kid to the best hockey market in the NHL. What a steal at pick 97!
