good job on the video julie, the HS is sooo crowded and I see numerous teachers pushing carts inbetween classes because we have more teachers than classrooms. and definatly for such high achieving sports teams, our weight room should be bigger. I hated waiting in line to use a bench that was held together by duck tape. good thing the levy passed :-P
I don't think we want class size to increase, which is one of the "solutions" if the levy doesn't pass. I think all the school's want is to maintain the quality we presently have in our schools. If the levy fails, many programs will be cut and teaching jobs will be lost. Your kids will have to "pay to play" and the fine arts programs will suffer. It's not Collinwood, but it's definitely a step in the wrong direction.
Think carefully about this issue. It really affects everyone!
We have good test results in Aurora. Costs for the district have increased, they need more money. We all do. Thoughtful discussion of both sides at oliveaurora(dot)org
do you know how they evaluate teachers to see if they can teach good or not so they can give them a job? they have an announcement at lunch, saying if you come in and help (the evaluation is just a quick class on somthing) and the class was moslty guys, and im sure most of us just voted on who was hotter (which is actualy who got the job, shes a 7th grade teacher, i think she teaches english and math) i know that i did!, so if you want to make the right choice... chose no
Wow, I cant belive you, we work so hard at that school the teachers are great and the schools are so careing...they have nothing more on their mind than our education.
caring, riiiiiiiight, lol, all they care about is money and you know it! and dont you belive that teachers are underpayed in this country, they are perfecly fine finatialy (financaly?) i seriously think you are one of the teachers there, mrs. frankman? besides, if you do get that money i can tell you were you can put it...
did you know that schools spend an average of $9,000 dollars of your hard-earned tax dollars... PER STUDENT!!!!!! AND! it doesn't make the education any better! all it does is waste MONEY!!! there are kids in the netherlands, were they only spend around $500 per kid throughout their whole education, that are getting a better education! what we need to do is get a seriously strict evaluation of all the teachers there, fire the bad ones and hire better ones
DO NOT VOTE YES ON THE LEVY its only another way for the liberals in this school to give them more money to waste on things like smart boards, which are just fancy-smansy-computerized-over-priced-white boards(their $15,000 apiece and they have like 10 of them not including the $500 projectors which they have even more of) that wont make the teaching easier, they'll just make the teachers feel better about themselves and make you more guilty because your not giving enough money away!
THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOO BULL! i go to harmon middle, and although lot of the stuff that was said bout harmon was true, like the boiler room and the roof and the ting with the science room, but you don't really need to fix this stuff, the school works fine without it,
This video is bogus. The presentation is one-sided and there are bold-faced lies all around. For example, not only does AHS have a Band Room, an auditorium with amazing acoustics and a Choir Room; it also has 2 sound-proof acoustic rehearsal rooms that are computerized to demonstrate different acoustic environments. As a former student, I supported the levy, but the fact that the supporters are lying to the voters in this video has caused me to change my mind. This video is very poor taste.
This video is the most disingenuous representation of Aurora City Schools ever. There is a band room and an auditorium I played in both. Seriously, this is ridiculous. A shortage of science rooms? As a former student, I am raising up the BS flag, dont buy into this extremely slanted video.
i am voting yes because i am a graduate of aurora and i have a great deal of respect for the school but this video is just ignorant, the people that made this obviously havent been into any schools in cleveland such as collinwood that have 5 computers in the whole school and 10 desks for 25 students in a classroom, or eudclid who cant even afford to teach art or music classes... the levy should pass so aurora doesnt turn into this but trust me... aurora does not have it bad at all right now
Please vote YES! These conditions are not worthy of our community or or stellar students who work so hard everyday. Lets give them the tools they need for success. VOTE YES ON MARCH 4!

What a shame they let the roof of the school get that bad. Why didn't anyone set aside money earlier to fix it before it got so bad?
