'Apparently the Netherlands appealed to many of the modern American jazz musicians in those days which resulted in a number seldom heard performances.'
true!
my dad (1932-1984) was one of those dutch jazzlovers.
he started collecting jazz records when he was 16 years old
and left us with a collection of 2000 vinyl treasures.
it's a small country, the netherlands, but jazz has always been- and always will be- very much alive over here!
