  • beautiful , excellent job

  • @onetradgicstory

    THANKS!

  • That's real zinc chromate alright, where'd you get it?

  • @rrip1 Yes, it is. I work at a aerospace company.

  • @ramhoves Me too

  • Did you build the D or J model? Im trying to figure out how to make the curves on B1 or B4. I havn't glued them on yet because i need to figure out how to makethem curve so it's correct, thanks.

  • @CvJoey12 I did the D model. On those I think i made a slight cut where it curves, Don't cut all the way though. Then just gently fold it back a little. If I remember right. Thanks for the comment!

  • How many hours a day did you work on this?

I had the DC-3, but i never finished it, it's cool but has a 3ft wing span.

Should i get this or the DC-3?

  • @CvJoey12 I would work on it on the weekends, maybe work on it about 4 hours a day on the weekend would be my best guess. Looks like the DC3 has a 35" wing span and the B24 has 48". I like the looks of the B24 myself because of the twin rudders. I'd say the DC3 would be little easier though. Thanks for the comment :)

  • does it come with rice paper to fill the frame gaps?

  • @hfhfloodable Yes it comes with paper to cover it and decals also.

  • beautiful, i'm currently buiding a comet p-51(a) from the old 1970's kit, i also have a guillow's p-38 that i think i will try to tackle this summer. i have kicked around the idea of getting a b-24, and maybe the pby kit. i have an easybuilt pby with a 54 inch wingspan already, but i haven't built that beast yet.

  • dude this thing looks like it came from a factory! is it hard to build because im 10 and im thinkin of buying one for $106.00

  • @mccauslandk I can help you with getting one, just message me.

  • i was told the B-24 cant fly, do you think its possible to make this kit fly?

  • @MrSBChevy

It's possible. probably pretty hard though. I think there's a video of one on youtube.

  • I have done the Warhawk P-40 and the Spitfire in the 500 series. I tried my hand at covering on the Spitfire, that's when I decided that liked the skeleton look better. I've ordered some Coverlite from Omnimodels website with the iron set, regular and detail iron. I'm gonna give that a shot on the Cessna 150 and see how that works.

  • Hey ram. Not sure on this one. I probably will. I looked at pics of this build on other forums and wasn't impressed with the naked appearance of this kit untio I came across yours on YTube last week. I have a few of my builds on FB. Send me your Email address to maconguy70@Yah00.com and I'll send you my link. I just started building these not to long ago. I built a couple back when I was 14 or 15. I have found that I have alot more patience at 40 than I did at 15 LOL.

  • Bravo !!! One of the better ones I have seen. I also really like the "skeleton look" on my models. All of mine are static models. I have covered a few but really think they look neater without the tissue. I am working on a Cessna 150. I thought about trying to cover it with Ultracote. I actually ordered a B-24 Liberator the other day, should be here this week. did you add in extra spars on this model or are they all precut?

    John

  • @maconguy40

thanks! No I did'nt add extra spars, thats pretty much how they come, the kit gives the option of a D model or J model, there is just a couple slight differances when building them. I thought the biggest callenge was sanding the leading edge and trailing edge, but once you get into it, its not to bad. Are you going to use the plastic engine cowlings? I'm still looking for some little radials for mine.
