  • Very good vid. thanks for the tutorial sir.

  • So I understand how to do this, but how do you prevent it? Do you just have to pull back? People have said ghosts... but really? That seems so costly/difficult to pull off effectively, and it's still left to you being able to EMP before sentry force fields...

  • @ajpena47 how the fck does zerg counter?

  • @FishTurd69 lol, I'm not sure, that's what I'm asking. I guess you just pull back (and hope the sentries don't have too much energy), but you'll inevitably lose some units.

  • @ajpena47 but thats the thing, u would lose some units but agaisnt ff u lose at least a good portion

  • one word, overpowered.

  • @baseguitar02 agreed

  • whitera IS protoss

  • nerfnerfnerfnerf :D

  • i hate it when i have an army of blink stalkers and sentries they don't share the same hot keys. tips anyone?

  • @DKV87 put them into different hot key groups i usally have a hot key group for my army, stalkers and sentries. if i need to use blink i go to my stalker one, force fields or shield, my sentry one and if i need to move my army, or use ht i go to my main army one, apart from that u could use shift to cycle through the abilitys

  • This can also be done with infestors, just use fungal growth on large groups of your opponent's units, and they become like a forcefield

  • sentries are so OP!

  • @tnmyat2 i hope your kidding, theyve nerfed protoss players enough. the ht upgrade gone, zealot and gw build time increased, the voids mega nerfed, and now your all calling for colosus and sentries to be nerfed. i seriously had to change my game plan majorly from these nerfs. And thats my rant for the day.

  • how do you put out the force fields so fast

  • BALANCED

  • @InappropriateBanana

lol, this does look pretty OP. Starcraft is all about positioning in fights and with sentrys it's like Protoss never have to engage in a bad angle.

  • @stretch90 but protoss macro is inferior to the other races', this helps to balance it out

  • @snerd8

I wouldn't say the protoss macro is worse than Terran, only zerg really. But their units are so durable and they're really cost effective for what they can do.

  • @InappropriateBanana FF is balanced WhiteRa is imba

  • @InappropriateBanana imba imba toss gosu!

  • NO dont hold shift when you are force fielding

  • I love FF but sometimes they just seem a bit OP. They def do not need nerfing or anything like that. Zerg can Burrow and Terran can Stim and run like mad but certain senarios such as blocking the ramp to the main while the toss killthe expantion seems a bit too OP

  • @TeQuiiLaSHoTZz you have to understand. that zerg when burrowed cannot attack plus hydras can not burrow and run like roaches. so they are free to be attacked... terran can stim yes, but it takes 10% of the life and still... you cant keep stimming... for something of tier 1 unit its too powerful... forcefield plus collossus is too good in my opinion, ive hard trouble dealing with that with all races.

  • imagine whiteras force field skills with drunk bobbys blinking skills!

    whitera+drunk bobby= drunk ra

  • Your mother is so fat she walks over forcefields

  • @LynFantast Your joke was so bad that no one laughed.

  • @mikecrevil I laughed. So you're incorrect.

  • @mikecrevil You laughed at your own joke? Congrats, retard.

  • @mikecrevil calling me a retard while replying to your own quote. Priceless.

  • This was definitely not the best force field micro iv seen and sometimes it was actually an liability. However great video (though im at school so i cant turn on sound xD)

  • @Dasmaster1 What're you talking about...His forcefields were pretty good. His army was significantly smaller and he managed to beat him.

  • @Shortkid110 Well the first forcefields for example were just a mess. Then he dropped a few useless ones because he decided halfway he wanted to connect it to the gas extractor (which is a good choice if only a bit late)

Then he failed to completely block off the entrance giving zerglings a chance to escape. and at times when the zerg retreated his own units got caught up in the forcefields.

  • i frickin love sentries

  • Ok, thanks for your responses, ill try to get into a better player at sc2

  • i give you a great tact....go mass sentrys + Immortal

    you will be unstoppable!

  • Is it just me? Or does it seem that zerg are just powerless against a competent protoss using 5+ sentrys? I mean just having 5+ of these units can completely nullify any ground you send against the protoss as this video demonstrates, and as countless others have, where throwing up well placed force fields wins you the battle. meanwhile the zerg ground forces literally have no counter to this. In SC every move should have a counter, but here I dont really see anything that can

  • @BeggarSyu theres no such thing as a counter to positioning, u have to get a better positioning then the protoss, make him waste sentry energy, dont get into a spot where forcefields completely nullify your units (chokes)

  • @BeggarSyu Force protoss to use up forcefields, if you just sit back and let 5 sentry's get 200 energy you simply deserve to lose (if you do lose). It's almost the same concept as forcing Terran stim, if he has a bunch of orange units his two first medivacs will probably have no energy. Besides, why should everything in SC have a counter?>_>

  • Hm... how about this?: Quickly get your sentrys to trap the enemys workers into the "from minerals to nexus" area and use high templars to do psionic storm there, bye bye workers. Would it work, plz response

  • @CubexMotion

I mean if you can actually get a sentry and a templar in the back of the opponent's base, it is pretty powerful. However, you could just storm every square feet of their mineral line if you get 2 templars.

  • @CubexMotion - While any scenario can't be planned for a game like SC, doing as you said would involve getting at least 2 very weak units extremely close to your enemy's (main)base without getting maimed or killed.. and if you've got more units there a simple A move is usually enough.

  • @4000valentin warp prism drops, proxy pylon?

  • Thanks dude, i love your vids and i just subbed you for this, i hope youll make more protoss strategy vids

  • i have a very important question for you(or anyone) when i hold shift to forcefield quickly the sentries wait untill they've killed what they're targeting or untill they've moved where you clicked. so when im in battle and i hit F then hold shift and click where i need them to go. they just cue up and the sentries actually dont act because they're already doing sumthing. so i'm thinking because of that the pros just do F click F click F click. what are your thoughts?

  • @MariosGuy

Pros F click F click everything. Q is not an option at certain situations because its too slow

  • @TheUENtv hah thanks alot. just what i needed to hear.

  • @TheUENtv It works if you hold down F

  • @MariosGuy I just realised that you you can just hold F. Dont need shift!

  • @TeQuiiLaSHoTZz :O :O :O -facepalm- THANKS ALOT <3

  • @MariosGuy lol not to worry I've been doing the same thing since the game came out. I only found out because someone mentioned you can do that with Infected Terrans (Hold T). Also EMP can be used too this way! I always wondered how the pros do it so well and now we know :)

  • @MariosGuy this guy doesnt kno what hes talking about.......just hold f and click click click. No need for shift at tall

  • also sentries hallucination skill is really cool if enemy doesn't have detectors

  • Great stuff guys keep it up ya savages!

  • @uwishuknew7 If you want to see a protoss player use sentries check out the player named voidwards. He won a couple of games with a sentry, zealot combo. He really exploited the hallucination ability. His opponent thought he teched up real fast and wasnt sure about attacking him.

  • i noticed he never had to select any of his sentries before using the force fields. is there a hotkey for this maybe?

  • @interceptor6 It was replay

  • Force field is such an awesome ability.

  • zerg got the short end of the stick in this game once the other players tech up its hopeless how are we supposed to take on that terran tanks and thors and the protoss skills whe all we have is infesters and masses

  • @TheMossad921 Check out our "Zerg Strategy Perspective..." video as well as our "Zergling Surround and Defensive Tactics..." videos to see some examples of how to counter this.

  • @TheMossad921

    LOL, Brood lords/corruptors/ultralisk

    imba

  • @TheMossad921 Ultras collapse force-fields just by walking through them, dunno if that helps your predicament.

  • THIS IS SO COOL! DX!

I wanna be a badass protoss player.

  • @JeanPlaisance Mee toooo!

  • @Meltrust Who doesn't?

  • incredible. thanks for the vid

  • I know mas sentries is very gas heavy but the amount of help that they provide is unbelievable, its not fair that they can have so much control over the zerg player's army, we already know the good use of forcefields can you please tell us what zerg can do to overcome this? That would be an amazing video :)

  • that looks too cheap

  • @ludakrs remember every sentry requires 100 gas and every forcefield 50 energy

  • Very good choice of a protoss player. WhiteRa is a beast.

  • @morelliSS Also, the Zerg player should look to fight on more open ground or to flank the Protoss player with a secondary force as the Zerg army can move faster (especially on creep or with Zergling/Roach speed upgrades). Also, longer range troops can mitigate the benefits of Force Fields.
