Hey ohnoliam, FUCK YOU! People who like trains are not nerds! Well, some are, but you need to go get a fucking girl and get outside. Im the fucking captain of my hs hockey team! So just because i happen to be fasinated by trains that makes a train nerd!?! Go fuck your dad dipshit.
Wasn't Worcester part of the "inland" route between Boston and NYC about 15 or 20 yearrs ago? This particular train must have had to detour for some reason. Love those freight engines. Good video.
I wonder why the train did not stop in Worcester that day? I am sure there would have been some passengers at Worcester. I think these rerouted trains stopped in Springfield, MA, Hartford, CT and other stops in the inland route.
hey how can u say that. just bc people have an actual hobby unlike u. people like stuff like this and so do i. that doesn't make them nerds. we just like trains so shut up and get a life
The reason it did not stop, is because a few BOS-NYC/WAS trains were rerouted via the inland route due to work on the Thames River Bridge in CT.. After BBY, the trains traveled non-stop to NHV via WOR, SPM, HFD. Amtrak did not want to add any other stops on to the route, because the train already had enough time added to it as it was. It would be nice to see Amtrak resurrect the inland route though.
I live in Worcester.

Huh? The P & W train has so many multiple units of engines together? Their locos must be really weak.

You have to give the P&W a shout out. Who else can run a train with B39-8s, B30-7A boosters and a D8-40B?

I'm sorry, the correct code for Springfield,MA is SPG, not SPM

too bad this route isn't electified though. You do lose 10 minutes in NHV for the Engine switch.

Why is it rare?

Because the only Amtrak through Worcester is the Lakeshore Limited to Albany, NY. This train usually goes along the Northeast Corridor.
