If nirvana and Pearl Jam hadn't existed, bands like Unwound, Pavement and Polvo would have gotten a fair shake, and we wouldn't have the utter shit for popular Alt-Rock we have now. Long live the good stuff!
Im deeply perplexed..I've seen Unwound play as far back as the 'fake train era' in nor cal...what is this Marshal Amplifier doing in here? Where are the Kustom cabinets?!
is this when they played with the ex? in what was 2000ish? i remember thinking they really sucked and so did my friends, both of had seen them loads of times before and they were really good but they were just off that night.
You know there is some other band? On here calling themselves Unwound. I think they're a modern young country pop band that probably really likes The song "Unwound by George strait.
I am soooooo glad I got to see them, not once, but TWICE. Would not mind seeing them again, though I always feel Unwound, more successfully than any other band, captured the mood of an era, like coming down from an acid trip, and finding yourself in a wasteland devoid of all humanity. If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to the first song, Off This Century..
I think these may have been the band's final Seattle performances. Instead of between song banter, Vern and Justin kept growling and grunting into the mics. Pardon my French....Excuse Me....But Pardon.....My French
If I am remembering correctly, their final show was at the Asian Art Museum(?) on Capitol Hill. I remember that night being absolutely torn between going to it and another over at the Paradox...
amazingly enough, these guys make their albums sound better live. Of course everything sounds better when you're there, but even watching it in a computer screen their songs become better live. I'm a bassist and vern is a huge influence to me, he's just my favorite bassist. Not necesseraly the best, tough
you can call it self-indulgent i guess, but it's still really fuckin good. repetition is a great album to introduce someone to unwound, and still one of my faves
naw, not really so much self-indulgent as it is more arty and experimental. There are still a lot of songs here. I don't know, I like it, so I'm biased.
i think LTIY is their best album. i guess there aren't too too many fans who feel the same, but i find it to be just about perfect rock record (if i could pick up the vinyl version without breaking the bank i'd be insanely pumped).
this performance is insanely tight! thankyou poster!!!
Sara Lund is bad ass. It must be the woman's touch that gives her those really great grooves. kind of like sleater-kinney. Such an awesome band. Unwound will always live beyond their career. brilliant.
its brilliant

one of the best bands ever- ditto on liking every move they made- from noise rock to the dub.
luckily saw em 6 times. 2 times in Oly, twice in pdx and twice in AZ.
Sarah plays in Hungry Ghost (pdx) now.

This album was just so self-indulgent... Terminus is one of the better songs for sure... But Repetition is the best album IMHO.

I feel like their sound evolved as I did, so yes, LTIY is the pinnacle for me too. I loved this band and every move they made.
