This is a great part of Mustang history... thanks for uploading this. I followed this car in Road & Track magazine back in the day when I was a motor headed teen-aged gearhead... and now I'm a motor headed mid-aged gearhead...LOL!!! Nice to see it has been well preserved, and owned by a great organization...
What did they use to build the IRS system? Is it a modded thunderbird assembly? I figure it probably is since this car is an 89(?) and 89 is when the MN12 chassis was released. Anybody know?
you're right, idk what the JBA dominator is. but my first car was an 83 mustang dominator. it would not do 172, it had no nitrous, no 5 inch mexi-spacers, no f40 spoiler, was daily driven and got me a lot a female attention. So... I do feel like I can voice an opinion of two pertaining to this polished turd in the video. I"m glad you answered my "who cares" question though. Have a nice day.
it's got nitrous oxide, how cheap can you get? have fun when it backfires and plants those cheap lil dash gauges into your face. looks like a polished turd with 5 inch spacers, some mexican flares, and an f40 spoiler. who cares......
@RSXYYY the JBA Mustang GTA is actually a nice bit of Mustang history... it was built in 1989 and competed against the ZR1 Corvette and Twin Turbo Supra.... and won!
Will most likely roll down the Barrett-Jackson" type auction block years from now and bring 4 digits possibly...
@NedacFilms It'd be fun to own yea, but take the NOS out and build the motor like thug. forced induction and nitrous is for a certain crowd. I'm a N/A, all motor kinda guy. Ever seen an old bosozoku ricer? this looks like a lame american version, w/o the extravagant exhaust pipes. You know the first festiva to roll off the line was a historical piece too.
if you were not around when this car was unleashed in 1989 just shut up because more than likely you cannot relate to it and don't understand what it was and what it means today
I wasn't, but look at that thing! It has wide fenders and a huge wing on the back, that car IS A PERFORMANCE MACHINE. I didn't have to be there in 89 to appreciate a fine piece of machinery.
Holy crud, i just went to the cars website and saw the pics of it in all those magazines, I bet I still have some of those! I really like the capri rear hatch!
This looks like a redneck's interpretation of a track car. Absolutely awful. This made Autoblog(dot)com, and everyone else there hates it too, even the hardcore mustang fanboys.
The wide fenders are there to support the 17x11 inch wheels so it can get platform on the street. That car with its tires, spoiler, and engine could hit 172 MPH. In 1989 that was fast. I think the car is bad ass.
If you actually knew what you were talking about and with your previous posts I am assuming you don't, so I will say get off your lazy ass and find out. There are several articles.
They are not hardcore mustang guys if they hate it. This car does perform...thats the bottom line. It pulled 1.2G's on the skidpad way back then and that was not on some funky road race rubber. That was on true speed rated street rubber.
@ambientflier take in consideration that this thing was purpose built in a different era... and functional built to compete against the ZR1 Corvette and Twin Turbo Supra. I love the history of this car!!! I really wish I owned this car... this would be my retirement...LOL!!!
Looks like Crap, sounds like crap, wow
