They are a type of belgian shepherd called Malinois. You need an expert trainer if you want to work with them. They can't be held like Labradors, they need to work or they go mad. They are like a formula one race car: Very impressive, but if you are not Schumacher you are better off with a Vauxhall or Volkswagen.

The dogs are not German Sheppard (despite this race is very popular in France) they are Berger Malinois (Malinois Sheppard I do not know the exact name in english).

This is not special forces, it's police special unit (RAID), the equivalent of the GIGN but in the police. This documentary was created in 1999, they show the different groups of the RAID, we can see the dogs and at the end beginning the explosive team, they have the passion of the explosive but not the passion to kill, they want just to find the good quantity of explosive they need to break a door or a wall in different conditions.
