The smoke is like soot from a chimney. It falls and settles to the ground as quickly as it rises from the pipe. Unlike carbon from gas motors it does not go into the ozone layer. So diesels are also cleaner amongst other obvious advantages.

Bought a new loaded out '07 (I ordered it) had 5 crank, no starts and 22 trips to dealer for check engine lights. Said I was driving it too easy and sent me a vid on how to take it out once a week and drive it 60mph for 45min and don't use the cruise,don't drop below 50mph. Dealer actually told me to fill the bed full of rocks to make the engine work harder. Lemon lawed it, got most of my $ back (paid cash). But you know what? Smoke can mean wasted power, but NOT always. No diesel engine will have instant boost to burn most of or all the fuel, so you get some smoke until full boost is achieved. This is especially evident in heavily fueled engines. It depends how much fuel is injected and burnt. This is a basic explanation.

I'd like to see you tell a pro sled puller with a 1500-2000hp 5.9L Cummins that his engine doesnt make power because it smokes and those beast turn day to night my friend!

If A lot of fuel is injected into the engine you get alot of smoke (depending on boost pressure), but you also get A lot of burn fuel at the same time, making large amounts of power.

I put a set of 80 hp injector nozzles in my 6.7. Running a smarty stacked on an edge with attitude hot unlock. 5" exhaust,twins and a banks air intake, this thing smokes out of hand man. if you want smoke those ddp injectors are the way to go. I'm putting a video up soon

I already have DDP Injectors, a Fass 150, modified the CP3 regulator myself, and XRT Tuner. Get rid of the Edge and the Smarty, go with either the XRT or DR. Performance Tuning. I just posted a vid of my 6.7 doing a tractor pull, you can see how it smokes on there.

you guys are idiots... it is an 07' and you can tell in a number of ways, 1.) dodge didnt start using that style headlights til 06' so that rules out anything under 06', 2.) it is a 6.7 and dodge didnt use the 6.7 til 07', and 3.) dodge didnt start using the gay jeep liberty tailights til 08' so that means it has to be an 07'. this guy has no reason to lie about the year of his truck, so you should just keep your mouths shut cuz you dont know shit and youre making yourselves look like fools

my truck was an 07.5 and it has the gay jeep liberty taillights. it wasnt considered an 08. he either changed the taillights or it is an 07 with the 5.9, but it sure in the hell sounds like a 6.7

Old news man. It's because ATS is coming out with a "high flow" DPF system. If you can't buy a DPF delete kit then its really not hard to make one. Just some resistors and piping. Use a 5.9 exhaust.
