Thanks for posting, just to add to the debate, more casualties were caused in the fire storms at Tokyo and Dresden than either Hiroshima or Nagasaki both of which were viable cities some 30 years after the bombings. I have met some Americans who were amazed that there was fighting in Eastern Europe and others who were well aware that the Western Front was just a minor altercation by comparison to the Eastern Front.
