@MajorSlackVideos I tried something today: I copied the Folder of Red Alert to another computer, without installing Aftermath and Counetrstrike. the files are the same, but it seems that you also need some regiostry entries poor something to use Counterstrike and Aftermath for Windows, because I cannot load the CS and AM missions and I cannot build AM units in skirmish. So maybe CS and AM aren't activated at all. has anyone testet it with version 3.03 but w/o neither CS nor AM installed?
Guys, to be able to play Red Alert 1 (and CnC 1 for that matter?) in modern Windows Machines, get DOSBox to play the DOS version near perfectly, but it's really tough to set up. I'm running the DOS version with it in my Windows 7 64 bit! Sometimes the sound stutters a little, but not a lot, and I think it's rendering with a slightly lower color bit-depth in that it's a little more pixelated than in this video, but I think they may still be adjustable. Hmmm.... Should I post a tutorial, eh?
The thing that I liked about RA1 in missions that you don't see in the following RA series is that you had no clue where the enemy was. Mostly you were trying to orient yourself but very small bits of ''road'' that looked like crossroads. Now in RA2 and 3 the enemy is shown with a huge bloody arrow on your map.
@STEVETZAG It was pretty awesome and anyother cnc red alert or tiberium games did not have that gameplay, where you control one commando with 4 skills and beat a whole army! As a dota fan i loved it.
As for commande challanges it had some unique awesome missions like where everything is shrinked, or ironcurtained. And also ffa with shogun executioner. It was hell lot of fun.

how do you make scrolling around the map slower. when i move my mouse to the edge of the screen i can move from one corner of the map to the other in under half a second
@kolton5543 select "allow hardware filled blits" in rasetup.exe and then lower scrolling speed in options after You start a skirmish game. Also make sure your RA is patched to 3.03 version [for RA95.exe, You can see version in main menu after starting the game].

dude i remember playing this and all you do is build up a lot of power plants (dosent matter what kind) and then sell them and infantry rush the enemy no matter how many pillboxes they had you would win

It is actually quite intelligent thing to do to crack, hack and boikot majority of EA games. Electronic Arts represents the wealthy gaming monopoly that has no intent in providing you with a quality product as much as cashing out on you. You must realize by now that EA is not a singular person but a large network of greedy people who have no issue in making the morally gray choices with their products. You won't get to see the product until you have purchased it, and there is no money back.
I was always puzzled that the AI in mulitplayer never built or used naval units. An allied cruiser could take them out every time. Doesn't seem like a hard thing to code if the rest of the army plays okay? In fact, if a human player dropped out and was replaced with AI, he would move his naval units and attack with them, but never build any more.
@MajorSlackVideos I do not agree, Tiberian Wars was IMHO great as well. That shit was serious, nice cutscenes, nice gameplay. I liked also Generals. C&C4, red Alert 2 & 3 totally sucks.

In uprising you have Commander Challange with hunderds of unique challanges some have funny ironcurtain coverage some have yuriko clone missions.
Don't foget the Yuriko's mini campaign which was epic!

This was one of the very best games i ever played, i just bought the c&c first decade and this shits over ra2/ra3. Yuri's revenge(ra2) was fairly enjoyable but ra3 was a failure. Love this game, ra1 forever

wow this brings back memories.yeah red alert 1 n 2 has a high replaybility value.i remembered playing red alert 2 campaign for like countless times already.but red alert 3 only one campaign cycle and i already bored.sigh i miss westwood

It is actually quite intelligent thing to do to crack, hack and boikot majority of EA games. Electronic Arts represents the wealthy gaming monopoly that has no intent in providing you with a quality product as much as cashing out on you. You must realize by now that EA is not a singular person but a large network of greedy people who have no issue in making the morally gray choices with their products. You won't get to see the product until you have purchased it, and there is no money back.

I was always puzzled that the AI in mulitplayer never built or used naval units. An allied cruiser could take them out every time. Doesn't seem like a hard thing to code if the rest of the army plays okay? In fact, if a human player dropped out and was replaced with AI, he would move his naval units and attack with them, but never build any more.

How do you make proper single player missions with briefings\scripted events\AI\reinforcements etc? The stock editor only lets me make MP maps.

C&C fell apart when Westwood Studio's was disbanded, FUCK EA.
RA1 was good, but i also loved RA2. these new Tiberian games fucking suck, i can't believe part 4, worst fucking game ever IMHO

@MajorSlackVideos I do not agree, Tiberian Wars was IMHO great as well. That shit was serious, nice cutscenes, nice gameplay. I liked also Generals. C&C4, red Alert 2 & 3 totally sucks.

True and true MajorSlackVideos. after Tiberian Sun Firestorm it was all down hill. The third and final Tiberian Sun was absolutely terrible.
