love the tank..i'm sure the wood has sunk by now :) but it actually looks amazing just floating too. i'm in the process of changing my Oscar tank to a natural amazon habitat and its a bitch figuring out where to place the driftwood. any suggestions???
@black7monster 3M ColorQuartz [Black T-Grade], it is not actually aquarium sand, it is product used in flooring or pools, not exactly easy to find, and last I heard has been discontinued. However I heard there are other manufacturers making something similar.
what do you use to get your water black. ive tried oak leaves, and i wanna try peat but its sorta expensive so if you could let me know what you use that would be awesome :D
WOW amazing setup..seriously..where did you get the roots for the theme? by they way you should consider looking for some cichlids to throw in there it would make it look intense..maybe some oscar cichlids or convicts..
I really want to do something like this my my yound red bellies until i move them to a 125, but have no idea where to start. any pointer or tips i havent been able to find it online but i may be using the wrong keywords lol
dude looks so cool is it hard to clean tho? and i love it so much nice job maybe get some brighter fish tho like neons or chiclids it woud broghten it up a lot more
This masterpiece is definitely one of a kind. Ha take a look at my amateur masterpiece let me know what you think. It has zero comments so far, so you should be the first.
did you buy tha drift wood or did you get i from a river or somethin?. Also if i find some wood from the bush or a creek. can i put that in my tank if i boil it and dry it repeatedly??
@fishlover80 I got some from a fish forum member, aquaria central, who collects and sells these Manzanita wood. I wouldn't know about wood from a bush or a creek, I'm not too familar, I would google it. I just saw a member selling these wood, and I thought it looked interested so I did some research on that type of wood (manzanita) to make sure it's safe for aquarium use.
im sure there's benefits of having a low lighting tank, algae is earlier to control and the fish more relaxed showing bright colours,, is this the case for you?
amazing!!! how dude how u do that??!! its amazing!!! nice tank and theme!! i might get a 55 gall my self tomorrow please stop by and see my video if i upload it
This is the best "Biótipo" that i ever see. I am Brazilian and your aquarium is a real copy of amazon deep water ! Only one question. How do you clean the substract ? The botton ?
Guess you've decided on the schooling fish by now, but in case you haven't: I'd go with a nice big school of Cardinal tetras, Glowlight tetras or something like that.
If you don't want you tetras to become lunch for your angelfish now and then, Rummynose tetras might be a better option.
(Rasboras are neat but would ruin the Amazon theme completely...!)
wow...before this video i thought tropical tanks were boring and crap...marine looked better...but i must say...this makes tropical look real good man....very classy...simple....less is definitly more in the aquarium hobby...well done
you should put real fish in your tank that are smart, have personality, and aren't timid like: Oscar cichlids or some other kind of South American cichlids because South American cichlids are the best .
The seller cleaned the driftwood to his best, and as for me I had to soak it in water for weeks to remove as much tannins as possible and waterlogged it.
And I agree, I think a school of Harlequin raspboras would be perfect for that tank :) How many angels do you have in there now that you took out the albinos?
I have a school big school of Harlequin Rasboras now, but their in another tank at the moment, waiting till they get bigger (I got them as juvies), but their almost right sized, just a little more, then they should be ready to be with the angels.
At the moment there are only 6 gold angelfishes. and they are bigger than what they look like in the video now. They are even trying to breed, but I'm not experience enough to raise them so I let the eggs be.
They are called Manzanita driftwood, you can find people selling them on fish forums in the classified section. Just google "Manzanita driftwood" and you will find different forums with people selling them. That's how I got mines.
Thanks, the terminalia catappa leaves are floating at the moment and blocking the light source, they should eventually sink and the tank should be more lit up.
