ok, question; my 5D mk ii came with a EG-A screen; circle in middle and focus points; I bought the canon EG-S screen; I installed it; it looks exactly the same; circle with focus points. I think I got ripped off. and No, I didn't mix them up.... isn't the S screen supposed to look much different than the A screen??? and I did change the setting for which screen was being used in the function menu. Help???
Thanks. That's the basics. What about aligning the screen properly? The so-called washers appear useless, because they won't help aligning the focus circle of the FocusingScreen Ec-A for 5D II. As a result, the focus of my 5D II fitted with the focusing screen in question is quite a bit (!) off now…
hi does anybody know if using dish washing detergent as cleaning solution is okay on the SUPERIMPOSE INDICATOR PLATE? because thats what is used because i had sticky tape residue on it and cant be removed by water or air blower. when i cleaned it with dish washer detergent ( i did it very very very gently), the residue was about 85% gone. there was no scratch on the plate. So i assume that SI plate isnt really as sensitive to scratch that easily?????

Very helpful. I just changed Ec-D focusing screen for Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. Be sure to change "Custom Function" setting to obtain correct exposure.
Thank you for this video!

Super precision Matte would be the screen to use if one were using M42 manual focus lenses on the camera?

I don't understand why canon doesn't offer transmissive LCD for this focusing screens like Nikon.
I mean Canon did that in the 7D then why not in the 1D mark 4 or the old 5D mark 2.
Transmissive LCD focusing screens are way more convenient than this method.
Hope the 5D mark3 has this

Well, hear the answer in the video. Grid for architecture and super precision for macro.

but its not like the original waste or deteriorate?

It's coming from canon. There are no differences in quality. Solely superprecision screen is darker thats it.

Would be nice if the SHUTTER RELEASE BUTTON was as easily replaceable.
Canon make too much shoddy gear!
