Yes. You can turn him off completely during the song. That is the first thing I do once I get the home console games.

no he's asking if the NOTE arrows look different than NOTE arrows from previous DDR games...and they do. The older games' note arrows had the "light up" parts inside the arrows the same color as the arrow. (Where as all other arrow types used white). These note arrows seem to use traditional white "light ups".
