  • His grandmother must of know the history of the Island and the writings of paulinus to nero and historian Tacitus. and I was talking of SanderS. WHAT HE MUST OF KNOW!!!

    Gwyl Canol Gaeaf PEACE

  • The film 'Wicca Man' has virtually nothing to do with Wicca - Wicca is a peaceful nature-based religion

  • It's not "Wicca Man"; it's "Wicker Man," referring an actual large humanoid form made out of wicker.

  • i think the snake was down its trousers

  • Alex sander got the wicker man story from Anglesey

N Wales (Druid Island), He come from Birkenhead just up the coast. Wicca and Witches come from written roman reports from Celtic and Druid history of Anglesey.

    Read philipcoppens com web page.

So maybe? you are all druids.

WE KEEP A WELCOME IN THE HILL SIDE. )O(

  • wicca is a modern religion of pissedoff christians

  • Its SanderS, and he did not get the idea from Angelsey; in fact it wasn't him that made the film at all it goes a long way further back than Alex. If you mean Ynys Mon, by way of being the last bastion to be Christianised I think you will find the timing of this to be irrelivant and Druid history recorded in many other places than Angelsey

  • I Know Robin Hardy Directed the film. Anthony Joshua Shaffer wrote the out line for the book, "by the way he was from Liverpool" but the film screen play well? on an unfinished book why hire a technical adviser in witchcraft? A man who practices his craft with his grandmother from were! Anglesey Ynys Môn, Môn Mam Cymru, Mona, Druid Island,

  • The cult of the Druids probably developed from the prehistoric cultures. The Celtic religion was a nature religion: they worshipped the sun, the moon and nature. In the end, their religion became a hierarchical society, It is known that the Druids made sacrifices, normally in the form of animals

  • They worshipped Celtic gods, not the sun, moon or nature itself.

  • Speaking as someone who has also been Wiccan since the 1960s, and was never Christan, I do not think so. I have done workings with folks who knew Alex Sanders in his later (Indian) period, though alas I did not. I do own one talisman that was once his. alexandrianism is not my cuppa but those of that tradition are honored.

  • test

  • Actually, The original 70's version of 'The Wicker man' was banned in certain counties of the UK and was very controversial at the time because of the fact they showed witches as being a part of the real community etc. It was a groundbreaking film which used as wicca advisor Alex Sanders to give a genuine touch (even though the producrs added the ridiculously gruesome ending for pure sensationalism)

  • I have a copy of the original Wicker Man. It's a classic; as a Witch, I love the movie.

  • I love this movie too, it great!

I HATE what they did to it in the new version.

  • No, they added the gruesome ending because that was the whole purpose of the Wicker Man. Now, whether or not the Druids sacrificed innocent victims or criminals is a matter of debate, depending on how much credence one gives Julius Caesar. This is the first I've heard about Sanders being a consultant on the movie.

  • What!!! "The Wicker man was banned in the UK because of its witchcraft" What on earth is she talking about? Its never been banned.

  • Well, nice to see Alex being mentioned on You Tube.

I wouldn't say that this is any great... acheivement however. You have missed a lot, about Alex which you could have said. Maybe Wicca TV should come and interview some of us English Witches initiated by Alex and Maxine!

  • What a nice surprise, I agree with MelliferaSiren entirely. I have met 1st of 1st initiates that outstand me with thier knowledge and stories of Alex... I would like very much to hear about him from his initiates still actually living in England, and carrying on the legacy on fammiliar ground. *sorry if that seems petty* Anyway once again, a pleasent surprise. Brightest wishes and love for the Alexandrian high ones

    Jon
