Last I checked, the Smashing Pumpkins classic albums consisted of more songs than the angst-y rock stuff like Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Zero, XYU, and Geek USA. In fact, about half of their output probably consists of psychedelic-sounding music exactly like this song. Sorry that Billy has dared to act his age while you're still clinging to your teenage hangups.

I don't have a favorite album by them , i think each album they put out has its only unique message. I like their new stuff as well. They are finally coming to pa next month , super excited ! I have been waiting 5 years to see them and im not missing out this time.
I often wonder how people can favour Adore over all the other albums, each to its own but i always thought Jimmy had a big part to play in the overall sound of the band and would always imagine what he might have done with the same songs had he been in the band at the time.

Billy could just rehash some old shit and keep the plastic fans happy but why should he do that? You people complain when bands all sound the same, yet you bitch and moan because new Pumpkins sounds different? Wow.

their old stuff is amazing, but billy needs to grow with his music. there are new generations discovering his music, but he can't live with just his old music, he needs to continue and make new music. we all need to allow him to do that and be true fans of smashing pumpkins as a whole.
I have a theory about The Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan is a brilliant artist and can pull off some amazing stuff, but I think he can also go overboard and needs someone who can work with him and tell him when he's producing crap.
The TBK stuff has a couple of good songs but most are just painful to listen to. TheFutureEmbrace was the same. Maybe D'arcy and James didn't contribute much artistically but their absence is certainly felt.
I agree with babygotshot: better than widow wake, which I felt was rather repetitious. However, Billy Corgan clearly cares about what he is doing: Teargarden is a groundbreaking concept and Corgan's idea, to create each song as an individual audio art piece and gradually drip feed each direct to our veins, clearly shows that he wants to produce each track to the best of his ability - respect.
The musical world would be truly lost without the Smashing Pumpkins!

Ive read alot of critisism on here saying SP arent what they used to be but to me thats the whole point of these songs its like having a brand new band and a fresh start (i admit itll be a shame not to have new albums like SD + M&TIS) but i quite like the new sound and if you dont expect it to sound like the Pumpkins of old this is a great track and i cant wait to hear the rest

This one is so awesome! Seriously pumpkin fans give this one a chance this one really grew on me. It reminds me of Cupid De Locke and Thirty Three style from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness :D

yeah there is a few nice gems that have been made since the reforming i guess but i am still curious as hell as to what the original line up would sound like if they were to reform... would it be all that we wanted and desire for or would it be a fucking train wreck.
