I've heard radio stations cut out at least 100 times in (my) past while songs are being played, and not while conspiracies plots are being reviled. Every caller to Art Bell is a conspiracy nut calling in to revel alien plots. If the station cut out during another caller, it would make it look suspicious too. If that guy was real he would have at least told his story to someone credible. National media (TV) might be censored at the top, but not at the local station level. Calling in does nothing.

I loved listening to this show growing up. Art Bell was a pimp. This show is more informative than most Corporate news channels. Sadly I dont have any AM radios in my house anymore so the only time I get to listen anymore is when Im on the road at night.

@planetfrog Thanks brotha! I'll look into it. I commented on part 2 of this also. That the thing that struck me as well, was his use of the the term Extra Dimensional Beings" in 1997? I was like 12 and people were still calling em "Martians" so this caller seems to know a lot more than some might think. I didn't start hearing that term EDB until a few years back.

I certainly don't think Art himself would have staged this but his show was such that it opened itself up to potential hoaxmasters frequently. Personally I think the caller was just a total nutjob. The fact that Art's transmitter went down just added to the mystique even though I don't think the two events were related.

The incident in Norvegia was, all laughing aside, definitely not a misfired or malfunctioning missile. Experimental weaponry? Perhaps. I suppose one could discern it as being a radical new form of the EMP or something like it. To me, it was like nothing I have seen, ever. My initial thought roamed to the Hadron Collider then to a hypnotists wheel. We'll never know.

I've heard radio stations cut out at least 100 times in (my) past while songs are being played, and not while conspiracies plots are being reviled. Every caller to Art Bell is a conspiracy nut calling in to revel alien plots. If the station cut out during another caller, it would make it look suspicious too. If that guy was real he would have at least told his story to someone credible. National media (TV) might be censored at the top, but not at the local station level. Calling in does nothing.

I seen that too. He may have hoaxed it, however consider this, he got medically discharged. They may have came back and said you better get on there and recant or you loose all your benefits.
Also it still did not explain the transmitter shutting down completely right at that time which had never happened before. Could it be coincidence? Sure, but the odds get longer and longer.

But what he says has been confirmed by others, so not sure why he took it back.
The fact that the radio show network was shut off makes me think it was real info. Aliens /government have the ability to interrupt the signal.

If it's fake, how would the radio frequency had been soo conspicuously interrupted? Later reports state that he still sounded terrified even though he was "admitting" it to be a hoax. I think that at gunpoint, anyone would react to a command. Of course evidence of gunpoint is not plausible yet, but doubting this is the same as doubting alternate life forms all together. Due to historic discoveries, unexplainable land marks, and the fact that the universe is too vast for us; it's a given bro.
