------I've never seen a recording by him before or since----
Accept for this recording, I have in my collection a recording of the 'Musikalisches Opfer' BWV 1079 on the Klais-organ (25 II/P) of the Kreuzbergkirche at Bonn, Germany, by Helmut Schröder on LP FSM (Edition Brockhoff) 63 202 EB. So, at least there is one more recording.
@a55b47 - now that YouTube has lifted its time limit per video to 15 minutes, could you please re-upload this recording in full, without the cuts you'd made?
Orgelbau Klais was founded in 1882 & recently celebrated their 125th anniversary. YES, they were around in 1907. Philipp Klais is currently the 4th generation of his family to head the company.
My Professor played this one day... in concert. He was famous to be unprepared and rarely practice for concerts... yet he is one of the best of the world and closest friends with marie claire...in bad health and near death and comes out and plays this piece on a large marcussen note for note and with such a huge expression and tallent! I had never heard the piece at that time and this is my second time... thankful for the great organ and great tallent you also perform with!
This video is a good introduction to the German organs. (while the Reubke is playing). I agree that there is much to be learned from this performance. (organist)
Glad to hear it !! He certainly had spectacular technique 20+ years ago. We don't get any news of him on this side of the Atlantic. I'd pay to hear him play if he ever made it to the U.S.
Hi! It's nice to see another of your postings of wonderful organists and repertoire on YouTube again - THANK YOU!
You might be interested to know that your favourite organist is playing at Notre Dame on 5th September and I'm hoping he'll be able to come here on his way over to France. You might enjoy the posting "Latrobian Whirl" which I think is another of your favourite pieces . . . done on my monster concert instrument intended to inspire younger people with excitement for the organ. . .
fabulous.. thanks very much..

This Klais Organ is build in 1975 not in 1907!
In 2002 the Organ was renovated by Romanus Seifert&Son

Yes, Klais was in business in 1907. The company started in the late 1800's.

Uma das obras mais apaixonantes de todos os tempos.
O caráter sinistro e surreal é uma obra interplanetária onde céu e inferno estão juntos como as faces de uma mesma moeda.
Nada equivalente em modelo, estilo, sonoridade e idealização!

@EccentricRichard Given that editing each of these videos takes several hours -- probably not ;-)

l'interprète devrait sérieusement revoir le phraser des thèmes de cette sonate...

This is what I want to be played at my funeral, if I die young, by a tragic accident.
If I die late in life, then please perform Bach's Chorale Prelude in F minor.
No piece can be more religiously pathetic and tear-fetching than this Sonata.

It's really nice to hear this. Have you visited the recent performance of Hugh Potton? "Hugh Potton Reubke" will bring it up.
This organ is truly superb and in a most wonderful acoustic - thanks so much for posting

@latribe - Hello, David! Never one to fight shy of promoting your organ, are you? Did you get my email the other day?
EccentricRichard 2 years ago
Hi! No - didn't get your email :-( So perhaps you might send through YouTube PM with your email address and I'll try to send to you.
As I type on this video thread, the sound of this recording is truly outstanding and very exciting. Thanks for posting, again!

I will tell him this. He is headmaster of our local music school (Max-Reger-Musikschule) in Hagen/Westfalia and we meet from time to time.
