I am a victim of this scam. They got 300 off me. They told me that this sound system was worth more than 3000 and they showed me the MRP and it seems legit. Thye told me they sold systems that rich people buy and that they stole one from their manager or something and that they needed to get rid of it ASAP. Me being stupid thought it was a good deal and story. So i bought it and looked it up on the internet after and after seeing it was a scam, i was pissed.
I found the HT-81 wasn't such a bad system... although I only paid 10 dollars for mine. I got'em at the salvation army. If you folks ever come across the white van scam people, offer them a maximum of 20 dollars. It not, don't buy'em. They are a fake brand.
Do be aware that some boxes are missing the power connection. They at least beat out your TV's internal speaker :P I use mine with the computer on my DLP big screen.

They flagged me on a residential street in Paris and started the spiel on me. Whey they realized I was just wasting their time (for fun), they left like that. Note that Walmart scams their clients with $10 worth electronics sold at 5 times the price, "on sale", but at least you can return it.
Mclaren home theater is another similar SCAM prodcut. Low quality system that usually does not work. Company will lie about their product and not refund your money.

I watched two guys get approached by police cause they were selling them out of the back of the truck and after talking to the police they still ended up making the sell and the police walked away. The difference is they buy it and turn around and resale it and make a profit wo having the overhead of having a store and empoyees

The cops could have taken a lot of information from them, including their tax documents (at least in my State, in Arizona, to sell products you have to have a specific license and show your TFT tax document). The cops could have done a better job and intimidated them into leaving. Issue is that many cops are misinformed of the law they are supposed to enforce, because it takes years to know the law.
Man I feel your pain. I got hit up while I was working outside by a Surplus furniture store parking lot. I bought a Bernelli HD-6k Multimedia Projector and screen that was apparently worth $5,699. I got him down to 350 from a 1000 thinking I got a steal. Looks good and the picture is below average , definitely not what its advertized on the box and web site. Well 350 got me something I could use, for how long I do not know. Could be worse I guess. Other scams leave you with nothing.
I to got scamed!...and at a Menards parking lot! I got approached by two guys in a large white truck and they had around 8 or so different home theater systems in the there truck bed, anyways I got took for $200 for the Paramax P-509 plus $40 for beer money, one of the guys claimed they where from the Detroit area, I figured I'd buy it and turn around and sell it for a $300 or so, well I still have the damn thing, if I ever get approach by these guys again, it going to be a different story

Got scammed by them today for $120. Since I wasted my money I might as well use it. The paramax p-7 needs an amp/receiver to run (I hooked it up to my 400w stereo). Sounds pretty good! Worth it for the price I paid (until it explodes or something lol).

I'll tell you one more thing, if your spending $3,000+ on a decent AV system, it sure as hell won't come all in one in one box. I work for a high end AV company, and a buddy of mine was showing me his new Paramax home theater IM-4, & I felt bad cuz this is a scam all the way. Besides the facts that he bought it out of a freaking van, and it sounds like pure dog shit, the receiver that comes with it is a receiver/sub/tube amp combo, which makes absolutely no sense at all from an AV perspective. It also comes with about as many inputs as a Fisher Price toy. A $20 home theater in a box from Walmart would blow this away.
I paid $220 for the P-7... when they give you the story so quickly, it's a pressure situation and lots of people can't handle that kind of situation and end up giving in. Like a dirty car salesman. It's sad that people can do this and not care about their victims because they're generally emotionally weak people in the first place.

We saw this scam happening today at Goodwill on 19th street in Costa Mesa. My husband and I were there for about 30 minutes and this man stood in the same general area for the entire time - approaching everybody who eyeballed the boxed home theatre system, saying it's worth $4k and even showed a link on his phone. He even spoke to my husband about it, who googled it on his phone to find it was a scam. We called the cops right after and they came and busted the old man.

Many people warned me about guys that drive around in a white van that sells home theater system. I was being stupid and fell victim to temptation. Eventually I ran into those guys and they sold me a complete system - Projector, surround sound and a 71" screen. I took it home, set it up and BULL FUCKING SHIT it was a scam alright. Pictures and sound quality couldn't have been better (compared to my $4K BestBuy system). Best of all, got the entire thing for $100. Now looking for them to buy more.
I don't understand. You said it sounds pretty good. This system may not be worth the $3K and it sounds like false advertising, but is it worth the $150 to $300 that most people pay? Speakers do use glue by the way.

I got scammed the exact same way....the only difference for me compared to everyone else posting here is that my Paramax P-7 actually turned out great!!! I hooked them up to my Sony Bravia 1000w Receiver and they sound awesome!!!!!! I previously had a pioneer 1000w setup and they don't even come close to the HD sound quality of the Paramax P-7. As funny as it my sound, I am actually glad they scammed me. IF ANYONE NEEDS HELP SETTING UP THEIR PARAMAX P-7 LET ME KNOW, BECAUSE MINE TURNED OUT GOOD
you say multiple times in the video that it sounds very good.... so maybe its not a 2-4,000 system as the website says, but for what you paid (what i'm seeing from $100-400) can you find something better? i highly doubt it. I have a P-510 in my room and a HT-81 in my living room, bought at $200 and $400 respectively. I don't think they are worth 3,000 and 4,200 as they are online, but i doubt i could find a system better for the same price

happened to me! i payed 200 for the P-510 and i was really skeptical. had a crazy convincing story and im lucky i asked for the guys number. i bought it from him and got his license as he drove. I got home and googled it and it came of "SCAM". i was pretty pissed but i called the guy and i created my own story that i hooked it up and said it was just static. Ended up actually meeting him knowing it was a scam and got my money back.. i was lucky

Man I feel your pain. I got hit up while I was working outside by a Surplus furniture store parking lot. I bought a Bernelli HD-6k Multimedia Projector and screen that was apparently worth $5,699. I got him down to 350 from a 1000 thinking I got a steal. Looks good and the picture is below average , definitely not what its advertized on the box and web site. Well 350 got me something I could use, for how long I do not know. Could be worse I guess. Other scams leave you with nothing.

I got approached by two guys in a large white truck and they had around 8 or so different home theater systems in the there truck bed, anyways I got took for $200 for the Paramax P-509 plus $40 for beer money, one of the guys claimed they where from the Detroit area, I figured I'd buy it and turn around and sell it for a $300 or so, well I still have the damn thing, if I ever get approach by these guys again, it going to be a different story

They did lie to me and told me the amp was in the box under the sp.eakers. It wasnt. But i managed to get one cheap on craigslist and after connecting them, they sound decent. I work for a high end AV company, and a buddy of mine was showing me his new Paramax home theater IM-4, & I felt bad cuz this is a scam all the way. Besides the facts that he bought it out of a freaking van, and it sounds like pure dog shit, the receiver that comes with it is a receiver/sub/tube amp combo, which makes absolutely no sense at all from an AV perspective. It also comes with about as many inputs as a Fisher Price toy. A $20 home theater in a box from Walmart would blow this away.

We saw this scam happening today at Goodwill on 19th street in Costa Mesa. My husband and I were there for about 30 minutes and this man stood in the same general area for the entire time - approaching everybody who eyeballed the boxed home theatre system, saying it's worth $4k and even showed a link on his phone. He even spoke to my husband about it, who googled it on his phone to find it was a scam. We called the cops right after and they came and busted the old man.

Many people warned me about guys that drive around in a white van that sells home theater system. I was being stupid and fell victim to temptation. Eventually I ran into those guys and they sold me a complete system - Projector, surround sound and a 71" screen. I took it home, set it up and BULL FUCKING SHIT it was a scam alright. Pictures and sound quality couldn't have been better (compared to my $4K BestBuy system). Best of all, got the entire thing for $100. Now looking for them to buy more.

I got scammed the exact same way....the only difference for me compared to everyone else posting here is that my Paramax P-7 actually turned out great!!! I hooked them up to my Sony Bravia 1000w Receiver and they sound awesome!!!!!! I previously had a pioneer 1000w setup and they don't even come close to the HD sound quality of the Paramax P-7. As funny as it my sound, I am actually glad they scammed me. IF ANYONE NEEDS HELP SETTING UP THEIR PARAMAX P-7 LET ME KNOW, BECAUSE MINE TURNED OUT GOOD

you say multiple times in the video that it sounds very good.... so maybe its not a 2-4,000 system as the website says, but for what you paid (what i'm seeing from $100-400) can you find something better? i highly doubt it. I have a P-510 in my room and a HT-81 in my living room, bought at $200 and $400 respectively. I don't think they are worth 3,000 and 4,200 as they are online, but i doubt i could find a system better for the same price

You can't connect them to the TV...The only way to connect them is via a Receiver (amplifier)..They sound awesome by the way.

wish i had of seen this yesterday. exact same story, finished the groceries loading stuff into the car, when a van pulls up asks if i want to buy a home theatre system. they were asking $1000 declined 3 times then the driver gets out puts on a convincing story makes a ddeal for $350. get home and the speakers dont even have cables to hook it up.
so if anyone tries to sell cinemax loud speakers tell them where to go

Gave guy $200.00 for the P-7 model in a parking lot. Unfortunately it is the Paramax fake brand company that is committing the real act of the scamming that provides all the necessary professional presentation of packaging, stickers, Paramax logo factory tape, professional presentation of magazine catalogs of all models, zip tie factory band around box with imprint of company logo and warranty certification. Everything seems retail packed and “IT IS”, this is the problem. Paramax needs to fall.

Just happened to me and my friends bro, at my college lol. Dude this guy came up to my friend and sold em two stero systems, for 400 dollars. They arent bad, but it wasn't worth what they paid. I think its hilarious, but yeah happened in California. Happened here hahaha. My friends got fucked too. So don't worry about it :p hahaha

happened to me! i payed 200 for the P-510 and i was really skeptical. had a crazy convincing story and im lucky i asked for the guys number. i bought it from him and got his license as he drove. I got home and googled it and it came of "SCAM". i was pretty pissed but i called the guy and i created my own story that i hooked it up and said it was just static. Ended up actually meeting him knowing it was a scam and got my money back.. i was lucky
