I think it's interesting that when we were most active on YT, there was already a previous generation say it that it was dead. I think every group of YTers goes through the same thing. The friendships we forged on here have morphed into the real world, or other forums. I guess it's just evolution of ourselves as individuals...
@zebidee55 Well if it was dead a few years ago, it's really rotting now because I personally think YT is so HUGE that it just has a different feeling. I know that smaller people that make cool vids are still around, i just don't have a tremendous amount of time to watch like I used to. Which also might be why I feel alienated from YT now, I just can't participate like I used to. So I totally agree about our evolution as individuals. It's bound to happen here or in the RL sphere as well.
@zebidee55 Also, I wanted to add that even though I feel strange about re-joining the internetz like I used to, I am so grateful for getting the opportunity to meet so many COOL and AWESOME folks like you and a handful of others in Germany a couple years ago and I am pleased as punch that I can keep in touch with some of you on other forums. So for that, YouTube, I am eternally yours. (hehehe, now I am just being corny. :)
@paisleyduck I completely agree. I think 888 was when it suddenly clicked that it'd be OK to move here for a bit. I suddenly had my own friends and own identity here, so you were a part of all of that too. I really like the Facebook connections now, as it really solidifies the friendships - even in some cases with people I've never actually met in RL.
It bothers me a bit that some people I know watch my vids. Especially my little brother. I have to kind of watch what I post now too.
I think we all miss the old YT. People were saying that when I joined 3 yrs ago. How I ever got a feature on the front of the UK channel is beyond me. I'd have to pay them a squillion bucks to get that now.
@BaubleRob Yeah, I really can't explain why it's weird that people I know can watch, since I see them everyday and talk to them face to face or whatever, but I do feel limited on here now because of it. Before I felt like I could be a fool and my internet life/bubble would be more accepting of that than RL peeps. Seems like something only other people who make videos can understand.
And it is funny that it seems like each new "generation" of YTers feels this way about the good ole days.
Awesome! I'm so glad you did this! Wow, sounds like you had actual drama to deal with (as opposed to my paranoid/imaginary problems with internet vs real life people) so I totally understand why you took a break. Congratulations on the baby!
@dianakazoo Well, I had the regular problems with real lifers versus internet friends too, but mostly it was because I had become romantically involved with another YTer and it didn't work out how we intended and it got weird etc. That's that in a nutshell. But it is all good now and we are still friends, thank goodness, because he still means the world to me. :)
And thanks for the congrats, I am sure he will be making some guest appearances soon! ha
The community is still around it just morphs into other areas but it's here.And to answer your question about the responses when you click on the comment box to leave a comment there is a option to your right that says or create a video response click it and your right there to leave it for them.
@bearchay889 Yeah, I know the community aspect is still around here lurking in corners, I just have not had a lot of time to really watch a ton of videos and look around for some cool new subscriptions, since a lot of people I used to watch are on hiatus too. But I do take suggestions, so if you have any, I'll take a looksee. :)
@paisleyduck Go check out billyctv he's in my other channels thing on my channel page he does a show called watch worthy youtubers you can find many good ppl to watch watching them.
