How is that not art? He's creating marks, textures and moving colour. Just because it isn't realism doesn't mean it's not art.

fisrtable am kind of into abstracts and secondly to lanarjellies, am not gonna judge because i dont know much about it, plus am more into the drawing stuff, but it doesnt matter waht colors you use because what u want to get is something new, something out of your mind and heart. i do things that my parents dont understand even if i explain them, but i know i like that, i do art for me and if some people like it, i feel happy but if they dont like it i either way feel cool

Your painting would have turned out more vibrant if you had primed your wood with a white acrylic or latex primer and sanding it before applying paint. I also recommend Golden Acrylics instead of Basics.
