  • Nice song, great scene.

Too bad the humanist utopia that Star Trek envisioned isn't even sorta/kinda coming into fruition. The nihilistic punk asshole on the bus, he's the future.

  • where the fuck did u find this? AMAZING!

  • The best example of punk rock they could find was THIS fat fuck? (yes I know I would qualify for that too^)

  • @deathead666 I read that he was involved in the making of ST4, wrote the song and recorded with his buddies then convinced the director to put him and the song in.

  • How did u get this? How did u find out about this? Tell me everything!

  • typical punk song? yea if you dont know shit about punk.

  • @1982punkdestroy Actually reminds me a little of Discharge or a stottier version of Condemned 84.

  • lol typical punk song.

  • God I loved this scene, it was laced with, shall I say, more "colorful metaphors." :p

  • holy shit, i always wondered who did this song. great.

  • haha that pic is from star trek

  • Isn't this listed as "The Yellowjackets."?? In star trek.

  • This sound is more of a 70's punk rather than 80's.

  • This was the only time Edge of Etiquette ever recorded anything or played anywhere. There is no recording of the song available for purchase anywhere. There are copies of the original recording floating around the internet. No royalties or licensing fees of any kind were ever paid to anyone for the use of the song "I Hate You" in Star Trek IV. Thatcher did get some royalties when the song was later used in the movie Back To The Beach, but the song was not included on the film's soundtrack album.

  • you can find info on the song on memory alpha

  • lol

  • I remember when I was a lil kid and heard this song in the Star Trek movie at the theatre. Doesn't Spock give the punk the death grip?

  • Kirk R. Thatcher wrote, produced, and sang this song.

  • What's the name of the band and the song?

    Oi!

  • It is stupid that we have to ask and it's a lousy song anywayz so who care who the group was? "...Not me."

  • On the way to save some whales... Nice. I saw this when it came out on Thanksgiving day like 87' or 88', good shot.

  • i remember seeing the movie star trek i forgot wich one anyways i remeber this guy i mean i dont know why i was watching it but i thought this guy was such a bad ass i even watched it till the end to see what his name was i think it was kirk thatcher or somthing i never looked him up later but i thought he was just an acter but i found out he also sang for this song so thats cool

  • dude this is frikkin beast!:D

  • Laughing Squid treats us to this funny clip from an episode of Quincy. Jack Klugman is trying to save a young girl lured into the violent world of the punk underground. He visits to a punk rock club, bravely goes on stage, and pleads passionately for information about the girl's whereabouts. The punks, in preposterously clownish make-up, respond with sarcasm, socio-political rhetoric, and snot-nosed apathy. I enjoyed this almost as much as the Ironside clip with Tiny Tim at a beatnik club.

  • this song was written and performed by the guy that played the punk in star trek IV (pictured above) who wasn't even an actor but assistant to director and star leonard nimoy. playerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I understood him to be the director himself.

  • `pushes the Button , a sign pops up ` Out of order ` Looks and it says "Made in Fuggin China " `shakes head `

  • I love the old shit.. I was into the scene in the 80's.. Fucking great. Its too bad things change...There are many who will never know the more fun, and freedom that was then. Add some Old black Flag, and Some Conflict, etc... Good shit.

  • to the cunts that hate this song!

  • Dude, this was in Star Trek 4!

    Awesome!

  • I don't know why, but I still love shit like this. Makes me angry for no reason at all.

  • yea this is edge of etiquette. the exploited has that rich scottish accent

  • suck it

  • dude, this is a good song.. and it was done by edge of etiquette now shut the fuck up

  • probably the best obscure punk song ever...

  • Dude, I need to know who does this song.

  • Performed by Edge of Etiquette. It was heard only in the movies 'Back to the Beach'(87) and ST 4 (86). The group only existed for like a day.

  • @ctubauer47 ST 4?

  • @ctubauer47 A SECOND movie played this song??? I've never heard this!

  • @ctubauer47 store.intrada.com has Released a remastered complete Star Trek 4 Sountrack and also includes this song!! I'm not sure on the quality of that yet but should be great! :)

  • @hawanja I'm pretty sure the guy who played the punk (also assistant director of the film) wrote the song and whipped it up in a recording studio. Paramount wanted something like duran duran or flock of seagulls to play but kirk thatcher (the punk) requested otherwise and wrote the song for them.
