Bought this game for the PC because the graphics on my HD monitor are far better with PC then on the XBox360. Only 12,55 including 4 mappacks on Steam.

that look to me like there are set places to put your towers.

if so then its basically fucked the entire point of a TD game.

Most of the early levels are fairly restrictive on where you can place your towers. They will give you a chance to practice using the different types of towers effectively. Later in the game you'll get larger maps with more freedom in forming your own routes. I find the game more of a challenge with the restrictions and the requirement of doing the best with what you have. More interesting than the ability to free-form everything whenever you feel like it.

@TuRdSandwitch18 Guitar Hero is a music game, this is a Tower Defense game. You can't compare 2 different genres. Comparing like, Guitar Hero with Beatmania would be understandable, or maybe comparing Defense Grid with like Command and Conquer or something. Guitar Hero and Defense Grid are way too different.

One of the popular WC3 online custom maps is "Wintermaul Wars", a tower defense game that is the exact same concept. People have been playing it for years. Only difference, which pushes the WC3 custom map a little further than this, is that you can actually change the path of the monsters with your tower placement, which adds a lot more strategy to the game.
