The Flexi is a fantastic amp. Not plug n' play, which I think is why it get's a bad wrap, but once dialed in, there are few amps that can beat it for straight rock.
Couple of things...don't bother with the printed recommendations for biasing. Bias it to 70% of the recommended idle voltage for the given power tubes. I run it at 35mV for EL34s at full power. Dial in your overdrive sound, roll back the volume for cleans, and slam the front end with a boost for leads.
Wtf, no RETARDS asking.. "cAnz tHIZ aMPS d0eS mETTEAL 0r The r0cKS hARD?" Didn't think I'd ever see an amp review without those imbeciles popping up here asking retarded questions. Nice little review, sounds like a cool little amp.
Nice sounding amp.I like the VHT Deliverance 120 & 60 also.THD and VHT Make Marshall look like they need to rethink there new designs.I'd buy this over the Vintage Modern in the heartbeat.
i have a flexi 50 too.. good to see you have 6l6's in yours..i spent alot of time valve swapping and ended up at the same place.. awesome vid to show its reaction with the guitar volume.. you didnt mention the boost thing but yeah, that only really works as intentioned with a hotplate.. err.. i guess all i wanted to say was "nice vid"..
awesome demo actually.. you're pretty humble about you're playing- sounded great.. sounds like EVH is a big influence. great tone you're getting out of the amp. i personally use a lonestar special, but am checking out these after reading that brett garsed uses THD.
