This is a faint memory from childhood! One episode I remember was when they found a dollar bill owned by a local inhabitant, so meaning they were not the first to be lost in that world.
there was a world on sliders totaly based off this. they whento awoorld that had the same marked. and ist almost going lne foro line as teh episode in some parts. wierd...unlessim thinking of this show and i saw it when iwas very young.
After hours of searching on Google I eventually tracked this down. I watched it as a kid in the 1980s, forgot its name and it has haunted me ever since . . . I still love the opening credits, cheesy though they look today.
@LepantoElReal Haha RECOGNIZE!! People made me think that this show was a figment of my imagination!! I kept on saying, it had a guy called Commander Kroll in it, to blank faces! LOL! Now I've seen this after years of trying to figure it out, I'm buzzing! I also realize now that I remembered the music spot on!! Haha, I know I am a sad geek but am in great company! The 80's RULE!
Whilst yes, this wasn't really "early" as far as sci fi tv goes, to a lot of people today it would be considered early, as it predates their birth. :)
It SO did not!!! Sliders borrowed the concept of parallel earths. This show depicted and took place on one parallel Earth. Sam leaped through time, not dimensions!!
I echo the sentiments. I was intriqued to learn Sam Groom got starring role and Mark Lenard was guesting in an episode. Subsequently, I've enjoyed this series for its too short life span of ten episodes during the winter of 1985.
That was known as the "SciFi Series Collection", and it was a wonderful thing. USA networks did however rerun Otherworld a few years before SciFi Channel came into existance. Those were the days. I too wish someone at SciFi Channel would get funding to do a remake series and spare us all the worthless "reality television" crap they keep putting out.

Oh man I totally remember an episode where the kids become pop stars by singing then-current hits like Duran Duran songs.

I remember this show as well, but barely. Early sci-fi TV like this a unique experience

Early?
Made in the mid 80's... After Battlestar Galactica. After Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. The list goes on, and this is NOT early sci-fi television.
Early sci-fi television would be Doctor Who (with William Hartnell) and others of its ilk.
If you look up some stuff from the 50's and 60's it will blow your mind far moreso than the repeated concepts we've gotten since the 70's.

This was a great if not short lived series.
The best one was where the two older kids played in the band.

Actually, it WAS a short lived series...

I agree! It's because of that episode alone that I even remember this show!

It used to come on Scifi channel when they would do the short lived series like the 1991 Dark Shadows etc. I wish Scifi would do this again.
