  • nvm its a grader

  • is that a yarder?

  • Gotta have either after 10 years. They dont like to dry start.

  • Starters and their solenoids around the world dislike this video.... =//

  • Amazing what some people have to go through just to get to work in a morning!

Seriously it is so cool how old diesels never die they just get more awkward as they get older. Great video.

  • Its great to hear an old engine start up after so long

  • @Bamchucknorris Yeah.Its like an accomplishment.

  • Cmon dagnabit....did you give it a shot of ether? Gotta give it some juice dad.You know this.

  • @mastersduhgree good way to blow the rings , dillhole

  • @novachevyguy Blow the rings wienerhead? The rings are frozen to the pistons. They arent anygood juniour.IF the engine frees up then you have a "bore" able block. If not,you pull it, toss it, and proceed.Understand sweety?

  • @mastersduhgree no i don't understand , because you're talking in riddles.. and yes , you'll blow the rings...

  • @novachevyguy I actually think the rings are too frozen to the ring lands to do any damage.Youd really want to oil the cylinders up good tho before you pull anything or even turn it over (you know this).I believe the rings would more than likely stay put in the pistons rather than come out and damage the cylinders.(im actually sure of it)

  • @mastersduhgree are you gay?

  • @novachevyguy NNooo,,,,,is that a come on? (yikes)

  • @mastersduhgree uh .. NO

  • Fucking trolls!

  • @Jonny64ism

How many times did you watch him move the gear stick before you realised it wasn't going into neutral and the clutch was stuck on? You try starting something that big when it's in gear

  • @simonspaz Thats right. The old earth scarpers where you hit the starter button back by the engine (in front of the read tire)killed many an operator because it was still in gear. You had to stand in front of the rear tire, push the starter. Many an operator is dead because of that utterly foolish setup of starting that old beast that way. Why,why, why didnt they think of putting that dag nab starter button in the cab where it belonged when they came off the assembly line.

  • Привыкли к стартёрам, буржуи...

  • i love getting old machines going!

  • @chevynova7177 Heh heh, yeah,,,its the wonder:will it start after all this time? Its especially exciting when your young.Grandpa started squirting WD 40 in the plug holes an down the carb of an old 28 ford 1 ton that had been sitting 15?years(this was 1972,i was 12 and waiting for the WD,40 to do its work(3 summers)was hard.Finaly,Grandad hooked it up to the tractor and we pulled it around the hay fielded. He let me drive the old thing and I was NEVER more exited in my life than to get to do that.

  • neutral is for babies lol

  • lol at 2:45.

  • I got one like this but fuck me if I can figure out how to operate the thing.

  • how many times does it take b4 u metal midgets realize the battery is dead

  • Nice sound when she finally starts...

  • He had it in neutral at 3:43 and then slammed it back into gear!! Prat.

  • trevlig VID man det ser ut som en gammal fä tacka u för vid!!

  • Great going guys...love it when guys bring old iron back to life...way to go! Great job...thing has more levers and knobs....man...

  • Great going guys...love it when guys bring old iron back to life...way to go! Great job...

  • wow, talk about revival.

  • dont make them like that eneymore......... lucky if u still have an engen after 10 years now lol :)

  • Why are they using the damn shorted out starter switch, use a jumper starter swtich and jump it at the solenoid and put your hot box hot on the starter and your ground to the batteries, just a little advice next time.

  • Hehe

They didn't start much better than that when they were new.

On a cold morning it took patience and a bottle of ether.

Charge the battery and spray & pray.

  • Får man fråga vad det är för motor i den?? =)

  • @mange9214 Vill minnas att det satt en Volvo motor i den!

  • thats a good motor, no smoke on startup even after 10 years

  • Should have tried pulling on the shifter while hitting the starter button at the same time. But nice to see an old machine get going again.

  • Mis-titled video. Should be titled "trying to find neutral after sitting for 10 years".

  • @toadabc What we do is try to get the clutch unstuck, the flywheel is rusted against the clutch.

  • @Jobergg why its a good idea when parking equipment for a long time to always park it in "neutral" to prevent the flywheel from rusting to the clutch.

  • @pcfd20 Ok so where do you think the clutch disc is when the gearbox is in neutral?

  • @toadabc haha u got owned

  • Cool my uncle has one just like it, A bit older though there and no hydrolics everything is hand operated.

  • I like the flowers on the back window! :)

  • dumbshit kept putting it BACK IN GEAR!! fuck.. get a hint!

  • @gizmo98550 The clutch was froze to the flywheel. read the comment above... it is easiest to break free the clutch and then try to start it as to not being able to stop it if it started and you couldnt disengage the clutch.

  • diesel doesnt go bad nor does oil science proooves it cuz its been sitting in the found for thuasands of years

  • @3970010 The problem with old oil is moisture that may get into it. Especially oil that has been sitting for ten years. But considering the whole thing has been sitting so long I wouldn't have any problem with running it on the old oil until it warmed up. After it was warm I would definitely drain the old oil out and change the filters.

  • @3970010 The oil that comes out of the ground isn't the same as the oil you put into your car. it has to be refined. If you let oil sit in an engine for too long it will go bad, turn to mucky sludge crap. not good. But in any situation the best thing to do is get the engine started and run it through a few heat cycles to turn that bad oil back to somewhat of a liquid form and then replace the oil and filters.

  • Wow! thats pretty good for sitting 10 years and the fact that it would actually run on 10 year old oil and 10 year old diesel fuel!!!. I guess its like they say they just dont build things like they use to! cool! :)

  • fantastic

  • I enjoyed the Svedala motor grader! what was done to her? she is working? post more videos of her!

  • Härligt att se att den fick liv! Sånt här gillar jag.

  • Nice

  • holy crap it runs!

  • Yea it start !!! I first taught that he wouldn't ;-) Great work. Bie.

  • When you get time, i have a 220 cummins that needs your attention !!!!

  • Ännu en 10-poängare för oss som älskar stora och gamla dieselmaskiner!

  • Have you posted this one before?

  • Thats amazing, after all those years, somehow these old diesels still manage to awaken from their slumber.... Enjoyed that thanks :-))

    Have a good weekend

    Paul :-)

  • do you not know how to operate this?

  • @1987chevroletcaprice No problem with operating, the only problem was that the clutch was stuck against the flywheel.

  • @Jobergg lol yea that would do it then.. what about neutral? could u not find it?

  • Good work. It was easier to start when it's out of gear isn't it? Ten years is a long time to sit but it looks like she runs great.Did you have to put new oil and fuel in it befor you tried to start it?

  • @RobWilsonII The problem was that the clutch was rusted against the flywheel.

We have not change the oil and the diesel was 10 year old or so.

  • @Jobergg That must have taken some real work, looked like she was only a few years away from the scrap yard.

  • @RobWilsonII You don't have to put new oil and fuel in it. If the tank is well sealed, you will be fine. That's because diesel fuel and engine oil never go bad.

  • @mrdeisel335 Ive seen in this tv program desert auto kings or something that they look at the dip stick and if there is something with the engine oil they think the engine is not going to work. THat would indicate that something can, happen, but I wonder what. I dont know much about mechanics but Im curious.

  • Nice old start cold start!

  • nice video. nice to see it come to life :)

  • fucking awsome i love old machinery

  • that must be a start on gas run on diesel ?

  • Awesome!

  • monster muhahaha

  • Nice!!!

  • cool what year is it though?

  • @brendonk01 We think it is from 1955.

  • wow this took a while lol
