This is the second one of your videos I use to accurately get the chords for a song I cover here on youtube.. hope you accept my video response.. and thanks for everything.
@09226022750 I like to try sheetzbox doht cohm, & ultimate guitar doht cohm, or musicnotes, one of the companies that gives you the first page with chords and melody line for singing notes, there's also tabnabber and a dozen other ways of getting the music & the instruction, Mark is great but he's not the only guitar genius here!
@09226022750 Appreciation opens DOORS! The library SYSTEM my friend! I just had the Ultimate Fake book 1400 songs, and eight other books just from my local library, I did an upload from Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, and almost uploaded my rendition of Tangled up in Blue by Dylan. I've been looking for the Elton John yellow songbook for the best version of Tiny Dancer, sheet music. You can request a book from ANY library in your COUNTY and it'll be at your local library in a couple of days
Gracias!
Thanks!! Very good lesson. Very straightforward Kind of interesting those e shape chords on 2nd fret and 4th fret I always refer to as the melissa chords from gregg allmans song. Only difference is they are descending in this case. Wonder if one party got the idea from the other artist? Maybe it would be a good couple songs to splice ;D-
Great lesson, thank you, but I've always wondered, David (gates) plays another chord after the 066400 before he does the 044200, I've never been able to work it out, but if you watch him play it you'll see what I mean. This song made me want to learn the guitar, and 35 years later I still play this song, hope you're video will encourage others to play this song. Thanks for the great video, keep it up.
Great song Mark, but did I miss something, I thought you said this starts off with an E shape on 4fr. but you called out strings as, 066400, how is that a E chord shape. Did I miss understand you?
Jus a slip of the tongue i suppose. The 066440 is correct. Other chords in the song can be fingered differently, such as the A or B7, but the first two chords must fingered that way to get that sound.

Just a litle confusing is all.
gibsoneer321 2 years ago
@gibsoneer321 he just means its a variation e chord based on the normal e shaped bar chord and containing most of the same notes

Its an Emaj7
E A D G B E (the strings)
0 6 6 4 0 0
so from low to high you play E D# G# B B E
Hope this helps
