  • @theratchet90

I am using a tablet pen , Wacom Graphire 3 specifically. It is written in the video info.

  • @fleng thank you

  • @theratchet90

He used that for better quality in his videos. It's just the same, he uses pens. And we draw on papers :D

  • @raensoe oh, just...

  • its not photoshop... its a software called OpenCanvas.

before you ask, check the description...

  • This is the first (and only free) version of OpenCanvas. I don't think it's creators would be too happy having you call it 'a kind of photoshop. Photoshop is the name of a program created by Adobe, not a genre of programs.

  • What program did you use to record this video?

  • I think you should include your OC event file in the sidebar

  • good idea, I will do that soon :P thanks for the suggestion!

  • Help! I have a large widescreen monitor and a non-widescreen tablet. I set my 6x8 tablet to "force proportions" so a perfect circle on the tablet wouldn't be an ellipse on the screen. The problem is whenever I click on Open Canvas the proportions reset. Please help someone. : (

  • The OpenCanvas 1.1 is too outdated for the wacom drivers perhaps. You need to update to a newer OpenCanvas.

  • Thank you so much for the video and your recommendation. OC nor Wacom would help me, nor art sites, so I was desperate. I can actually draw along with your videos now. Thanks!

  • I noticed today in OC 4 that the wacom mouss is read as a pen which leads me to believe they use their own tablet library that's messed up. Nothing much to do except use other software.

  • I figured it out after a few tries. It was very strange. I restarted the computer and reinstalled the tablet (and drivers) about a dozen times each and it finally worked.

  • yeah, you need to do that sometimes, restarting and reinstalling your wacom drivers again. Be sure to use your Wacom as a PEN and not as a mouse.

  • you can try deleting the drivers then reinstall the latest one. It should fix it since Wacom regularly updates new drivers every so often.

  • the legs are pretty thin for a male..

  • its just a "guide" I usually fill out the details and thickness after the initial guide sketch.

  • i learnt this at skl but never got the hang of it, now i do thanks

  • can you erase like, the blue lines?

    im new with all this

  • i drew the blue lines on a separate layer, so yeah it can be erased.

  • lol, I had intended to put Human "Male" but you know :) ,

at least its not "Human Bean"

  • thanksss good advice

  • thanks!! its awesomw!

  • NICE VID. Thanks.

  • dude this is great!!! MAKE MORE!!!

  • I want a tablet for christmas ^^ so coolio i love the way you use shapes to do the legs, i used to do straight lines coz i'm stupid

  • one tip, you should use only 2 heads for the torso not 3, that way it would look more proportional... i'm crap so i should be praising you ^^

  • Yes the torso is made up of 2 head length as in the video.

  • his torso is not really that proportional though, is it?

  • does the website have a virus on it?

  • I got my OC from there, I dunno about now.

  • Bless you! Thx a lot!

  • wait....if you're using the freeware of OpenCanvas 1.0 then, that has bugs and all right? and it has a chance that if you download it, it won't work... D=

  • Oh and... since you said you are going to do another tutorial. Can you do so please? on the legs, hands, femal body, etc. THis will really help ^_^; Thanks.

  • Yes I will, stay tuned.

Dude why you havent done any more drawings, I like your style of drawing...

  • Very good!

    Thanks!

  • Thank you for this.

  • u sniff alot

  • I was having a cold. sorry.

  • What did you use, MS Paint, Photo shop,or something else?

  • Open Canvas 1.0

  • what is de difference between potoshop and open canvas, wich one is better and why?

  • open canvas 1.0 is free and only does basic things like penciling and brushing and uses very little resource (lightweight), Photoshop is awesome, does everything else so does Painter and yes I use all of this softwares because its does different things for different stuff. The latter two arent free though and cost alot but worth it.

  • what program do u used?

  • open canvas 1.0

  • mouse or tablet?

  • prob. tablet

  • wacom intuos 3.

  • Thats what I have, just got it today

  • cool, thats what I have (4x5)

  • uuuuuuuuuh ya that uuuuuuuuuh ummmmmmmmm do that uhhhhhhhh clik that uuuuuuuuuuuh im done uhhhhhh bye

  • what? never mind... keep it to yourself...forget i ever asked...

  • A very useful step by step video. I have been working with several methods of drawing and so far this is the best I seen.

  • hey you use some kind of drawing pad? o its all made with mouse?

  • ight thnx man

  • what program are you using?

  • I am using OpenCanvas 1.0 , a freeware unlike the later versions. Google for it.

  • plzzz do the female body aswell!

thx for a greate vid helped a lot

  • its useful if u didn't take it in school. As for me I did 3 years of that. I'll say your style is good but realism comes from observation. (books of muscle tissue, etc)

  • yup, drawing through observation is the key and practising everyday. I also emphasize on getting Andrew Loomis's scans . This video is just really showing the "Tricks" as to how proportions work on drawing a figure. Everything has a measurement.

  • Excellent Fleng! I found this a very useful tutorial :) Thank you for the time.
