Many doctors consider this an insult to their profession. I must have went through a dozon doctors before finding one that was willing to put me on HRT. Would have been fine if they told me no from the start, but each one strung me along for weeks starting out nice then giving their insulting advice that I should check myself into a mental care facility. After having billed my insurance, I ask why they didn't just let me know where they stood from the start.
Yeah my primary MD told me no way would she prescribe HRT. Funny thing is that before she was a cardiac specialist she was an endocrinologist. Good thing I live near NYC and it was easy to find an endo via Callen Lorde and LGBT support groups.
Sweetie, first, you are very centered person, based on what I can see and hear. Secondly, for goodness sake, FIND NEW DOCTORS. You are th patient, you are the customer. You are not a victim-in-waiting, and you certainly deserve respect and yes, admiration. I know you're a girl and it may not natural for you to assert yourself, but remember gg's assert themselves in matters of health! Since you mention "Con Ed" I assume you are in NYC, which has, what? 10^8 number of doctors? Contact me!
A good friend told me life has a lot of bureaucratic crap that you have to deal with and that this was a minor issue. True so I guess I'm being over dramatic?
Forgot to mention, all my credit cards had no problem changing my name over the phone (which is a little scary). Con Edison and Optimum online required the court order documents. Bank accounts, professional liability insurance, state licensing to be an occupational therapist all required the court order documents. I still get junk mail in my old name that drives me crazy.

This is bound to come up again. Maybe it's time for another doctor's office to start fresh. Just a thought.
