@john123: I understand #1. But the majority of home loans that are being defaulted on today are not from Toxic Loans from the Bank. They are the result of Hard working family's that lost there jobs. People that have been in there home for years and now being foreclosed on. America has lost millions and millions of jobs, and without a job, your bills go unpaid. The housing bubble did not effect millions but only a limited few. It doesn't take many homes to add up in big bucks fast Don't be fooled

you are wrong. negative equity is the reason. studies show that when someone looses their job they are more likely to do what it takes to make sure the house payment is made than a family that has negative equity in their home.

Hi @john123wayne my apologies for the interrupt on your post, the absolute answer is YES you are correct, the bottom line in the problem areas / situations you state, and many more besides is that the one making the conscious decision to do 'this' or 'that' can only blame themselves for the outcome of 'their' actions - BUT, the people that have the ability to 'affect' a decision are also 'Irresponsible' in many cases.
