I saw that on my Google Sky Map as well. Except it seemed to be spinning... I think. Don't know what it was, but it was cool to observe for the moment.

The site 2012hoax pretty much just settled this all for me. There has been a long list of mag 7.0+ quakes between January 2010 until now. This is all observational selection. Poor Elenin could not take the heat, it broke up, and that's the end of it. Sorry.

I just read that Elenin is supposed to be behind the sun now, for what it's worth.

interesting keep track of it and see if the spot moves from day to day but make sure to track it at the sam time every day

I forgot to mentioned that I'm talking about the black dot on the sun with no name.. unless its always been there but I've never noticed it before
