I've think Hopkins has eroded a lot more than people realise, he knows it, that's why he hasn't took on a Dawson, Adamek etc. With Hopkins, he has always struggled with handspeed, if he can't close the distance I think he'll struggle. there is alot of motivation on both parts to win. Hopkins cuz he lost back in 93 and Jones well cuz he won and would not stand to loose to him. so this fight is a fight that can go either way.i will give the slight advantage to Benard. you will never know. its like Foreman Ali and Fraiser. Fraiser beat Ali then Foreman turn around and beat Fraiser, then Ali comes after Foremen and beats him. So again, you never know..

I've think Hopkins has eroded a lot more than people realise, he knows it, that's why he hasn't took on a Dawson, Adamek etc. With Hopkins, he has always struggled with handspeed, if he can't close the distance I think he'll struggle. Jones is being written off, but styles make fights, i think Jones will be extremely happy with this fight, he's got a far bigger chance in this one than against Calzaghe, purely based on styles. I think its 50/50

becuz of age. calzage got dropped by both dudes and avoided young and fighter in their prime and champs. bernar and roy are far greater than joe calzaghe. why did joe leave then? he had good challengers. bernard beat all he avoided. pavlik. glen johnson. roy beat lacy with ease along with sheika. calzaghe is a bum. he hid too long

what are you talking about?! ever since roy moved up to 175 he's fought everybody that had a winning record! virgil hill was a champ jones KO'd em, Julio Cesar Gonzalez was undefeated until roy, glen kelley was undefeated until roy, beat clinton woods (who was 32-1 at the time) then beat john ruiz. roy even beat bernard with ONE hand wen bHop was 22-1!!! i think they're just about even on their "resume"

im new on here. i think roy will beat bernard hopkins by unanimus decision again on this one, his punch output is better and he is more accurate, but i think bhop will cut roy, hopkins will turn up the heat in 2nd half of fight and i reckon that will b the gameplan, both r my fav boxers but roy has heart and will get under bhop skin, could b similar to what he did to lacy.

@dropanuke ya a cut from a head-butt because Roy will be punshing him with short hooks and uppercuts to the point where bhop has to start lunging in with his head... lol If it's a fair fight, Jones 9/10 time's will win. I have him winning this by TKO. He just can't let all the press get to him tho. He needs to escape during training, and just focus on his last fight, and biggest fight of his career. I recommend all fan's show their support, and hopefully it'll be a Lacey replay!!

Roy did win. Hokpins should have taken 40% all along and Roy probably would have been down to a 60/40 split to the winner anyway. Roy is exactly right when he thinks roy is finally vulnerable and is going for the last hoo rah when jones is going to use this and win in a danny green rematch to get the credibility back for a fight with chad dawson or heavyweight or something.

Hopkins legacy was going to be about cemented something at 160 because the best of his generation was Roy Jones Jr; the man that beat him for the MW title...so Hopkins settled for something else...becoming MW Champion after Roy left the division.

When Hokpins and Jones Jr. fought for the MW title, they had basically the same amount of pro fights...both their first title fight for the vacant MW title; and Hopkins was the #1 rated MW, not Jones who was rated #2 for that title.
Again, Hopkins NEVER moved up to chase a Prime Roy Jones jr.
You have to be in the division to be serious. Same way Calzaghe never moved up to 175 all those years when Roy was still undefeated/prime.

I just cant see Jones winning this, 20 years ago Jones was on his prime, and hopkins was just a young boxer rising, and it was the tougher fight jones have had, now hopkins is way much better than he was before, hes still in an amazing shape, and Roy isnt that much prepare to fight a fighter like hopkins, everyone knows the fight against green was fixed, but the Magic Jones we saw wont comeback anymore, and Hopkins is going to give a beating to jones, i dont want to see it but it will happen.

Hopkins talks a lot.
He had an advantage over Tarver the same way Tarver had over Jones: Both, Roy (when he fought Tarver and Tarver when he fought Hopkins) killed themselves to come back down in weight. The good thing to that was that it taught Tarver what happened to Roy.
And Glenn Johnson...respect to him but he go the left-overs of Roy although he should get credit for putting the wear and tear on a healthy Tarver before Hopkins got to him. Just the way it is.

Not the same Roy that was lighting up the stage from 160-175 in his prime and before he moved back down to 175 after beating Ruiz. But even then, Roy was already on the decline even before he moved up to Ruiz but at least his body was still healthy.
If Hopkins could have moved up to face Tarver, why didn't he do it years ago when Roy moved up to 168 and then on to 175?
I know: Because Roy was still in his Prime.
