I really like both Mike Gravel and Ron Paul. I'm sick of having to pick between "the lesser of two evils", I want to pick between the greater of two goods! I personally lean more towards Ron Paul, but I don't rule out Mike Gravel. I just can't take anymore American politics as usual. For once in my life, I need a leader I can believe in.
Thank-you FACT8. Great interview with Mike Gravel! You will be doing this will all the candidates? This is an excellent way to really get a feel for the candidate. I hope you cover all the topics. I want to hear about liberty new world order!?! trade agreements sovereignty of our nation immigration illegal immigration abuse of foreign worker visa to promote outsourcing corruption fair voting publicly funded elections transparency in government Gravel sounds great!
Mike Gravel is the man! These guy came out of nowhere and immediately, because of his willingness to be honest and speak to the real core issues we must face as a country, has completely left all the other candidates in the dust in my opinion.
If there is any question as to whether our elected representatives truly represent us on the most important issues of our times, then we the people should be called upon to vote directly and we must empower ourselves to do so.
Currently, corporatists sit at the table of governance every legislative cycle while the people only get to vote on one or another wealthy candidate every 2-4 or 6 years. This system does not work for us. Like anything else, democracy must evolve.
I like this guy it's just a little scary just because this is not a democracy it is a Rebuplic. 51% telling 49% what to do all the time. It might be better Im just a tiny bit hesitant but I guess it's better than the current system?
Either way, in a representative or democratic government the minority will be oppressed, so why shouldn't the people be able to vote on a law? It is a fantastic idea in my opinion, and I want to know why none of the other candidates can approach the american people as candidly as this Mike Gravel. And I also want to know why the media can't interview him without getting glib smiles on their faces.
I agree. It sounds like mob rule. Think if we had had that kind of system in the past. Would Americans have gone to war against Hitler in due time? Would Americans have supported Martin Luther King? What about Roe vs. Wade? Taxes? Instead of Gravel's ideas to push aside governmnet, what about having an all-volunteer government? Think about that. Only the most dedicated Americans would do it.
it seems to me like in the past progress has been brought about by populist movements before it's been made into law by the government. You think the government wanted to support MLK?! They didn't, but when they realized how big the movement was becoming (in the lead up to the march on washington) JFK realized that he had to compromise.
No, my guess is that many in the government and the public probably wished MLK was dead. We'll never know how JFK would ultimately have responded to the civil rights movement. Gravel is very interesting, but I want to know how his plan would help protect the rights of minorities.

Mike Gravel for president. Search his videos. The media and government doesn't want you to listen to him because he speaks the truth.
