  • EASY to make. Easy. The computer tracking system would be a little hard, but the ballistic device is very easy.

  • It waits years for a tank to roll on by?

  • anyone knows the tactical advantage of this system?

its only experimental right? i mean, does it have a purpose?

this thing only works in close range! Shaped charges and EFPs constitute the warhead of many diferent types of ordnance, which are destroyed in the process..

The Disposable Vehicle concept sounds silly..

Maybe 'cause im not seeing the big picture , here..

does anyone know more about this? actual purpose?

  • @brinca1nareia yes, it doesnt ask any questions , thats a big advantage, now shut the fuck up.

  • That's so retarded that it gets destroyed. All they need to do is put the efp on a stand and have the vehicle drop off the stand as the enemy approaches. Then through radio frequency, the stand can be adjusted to the target and fire. Well, obviously there would some draw backs. Of course you could get fancy and put a automated laser targeting system on the efp and launch the efp up like bouncing betty. It may need some gyroscopic stabilization.. maybe that vehicle's dirt cheap.

  • @444marines But you dont have to risk your ass to place the fire ant, with this one guy could send them out from the safety of a vehicle or a bunker. They have these things that are used like insurgence's use EFP's for and most modern one's are EFP's, there called anti tank mines and EFP's are not made in houses in Iraq (they can be assembled) but the parts come from Iran. If you mil out the metal concave plate even a tiny bit wrong it wont form the penetrator properly and wont work at all.

  • it can stay out for years??? what if some terrorist comes along simply picks it up and goese home with it??

  • awesome.. did you see how much damage that caused!

    ... oh me either

  • can hunt for its prey for years huh

  • Any tank,anywhere, anytime....definately lol

  • This will be really useful against insurgents, they're known for driving tanks right?

  • @DuffmanIRL no they dont, but they do use other not armored vehicles, it still will be useful though.

  • @DuffmanIRL lol

  • @vmorgun Sarcasm

  • is this thing remote controlled or fully automated?

  • O.O !!!

  • I guess a 6kg (?) copper plate traveling with about 2000m/s is capable of piercing any kind of armor. Its energy would be around 12MJ A 50 Bmg has about 0.02 MJ which is a 1/600.

  • @Hismathefirst don't comment if you don't know anything about what the video is about... its going wayyyyyyyyy faster than 2000m/s its going about 18000 feet/s give or take some changeand its not a 12 pound plate, its a round disc, made of different things, but normally copper, and its about 1/16 inches thick. when the explosive goes off it makes a "dart" from the copper folding onto itself.

  • @MrIwantmyownname I apologize, but it is you who is incorrect. An EFP does not go anywhere near 18,000 fps. That's the speed of a shaped charge for which you might be confusing. And yes, you could call it a 12 pound copper plate if you are being informal.

  • what does this thing use for ammo?

  • wow great :D

  • How is this effective aganist modern MBT armor?

  • oh nvm answers on page 2

  • what exactly does it fire ?

  • a copper plate. Search for explosive formed penetrator.

  • What does that thing shoot?

  • An explosively-formed penetrator

  • thats wicked crazy

  • What I'd like to know is if the vehicle is reusable after being fired...

  • Negatory...

  • Does the vehicle have the ability to self destruct if found? Plus, how is a car not reusable?

  • i want to no if ur joking

  • hessy11,

"i want to no if ur joking"

Sort of... but the vehicle costs money, and it would be a waste not to be able to recover and re-use it.

  • next to anti tank missile like the javlin........ that thing probley costs penuts its just a tuffend up rc car with a efp on the back

  • hessy11,

You never know when the Pentagon is involved.

The USMC bought the $7000 Growler (a cut-down M151 Jeep) for $1078000. EACH.

The the US Army said it would spend $4 Billion on the Stryker Program in 1999; it now costs $26B.

The USAF promised $80 Million for each F-22 Raptor; they now cost $350M.

The Navy ordered Virginia class SSNs for $1.8 Billion (Vs the $2B Seawolf), but the cost rose to $2.3B, and was only reduced to $2B.

They may as well have just bought all 29 planned Seawolfs.

  • it seem the usa has money blow

  • hessy11,

"it seem the usa has money blow"

That's an interesting way of putting it.

The US contributes more than two thirds of all the world's annual military expenditures combined --- you'd think the US military would have more to show for it.

...like some *re-usable* Fire Ant EFP vehicles.

  • @BlacktailFA @BlacktailDefense

Troll much? Take it easy Sparky.

Although it may not be cost effective, in reality, the US is more effective than any other force.

So if you look at the repercussions of losing a war; perhaps it is all worth it?

The effectiveness of the Virginia's and F-22's will show in future wars, that is for sure.

Maybe you should acknowledge Russia's major problems with the Lada class, the fact that no other country has viable carriers, and the many other non-US flaws?

  • @BlacktailFA nooo of course not, it fires a shaped charge thet moves at 30.000mph, its and explosion, nothing remains

  • @andykop0615 An EFP you retard!!

  • @andykop0615 babies mostly.

  • @andykop0615 a pellet

  • cool
